WOW!😲 It has been said that “entrepreneurship isn’t for the weak,” and I could not agree more!

It’s a unique journey one takes to bring to life a vision, concept, belief, or goal that serves as the underpinnings of their product or service. Along the journey, recognition, whether small or big, fuels entrepreneurs to push past the inevitable challenges, disappointments, and feelings of doubt they experience.

That said, I am pleased to be recognized by

This inspires me to double down on my WHY–to use travel and hospitality to curate extended stays/experiences that build bridges that break down walls that prevent us from frosting understanding and empathy for those different from us!

Happy Amor Day!

Today, around the world, humans exchange gestures of their love in heart-shaped boxes, cards, and even expensive jewelry and dinners for their significant others!

Valentine's Day traces its history to Rome through a catholic priest named Valentine. Legend has it that he was martyred for marrying single soldiers whom the Roman emperor had forbidden at that time because he believed they made better soldiers than they did married!

Here in America, Valentine's Day is a massive holiday with millions of dollars spent on candy and "will you be my" Valentine's cards? Still very much a couples holiday, it has become more inclusive of all forms of love, with parties called Galentines hosted for friends and family.

I am here for the expanion of expression of love beyond that of Romanic because Romanic love, while beautiful, isn't supreme among the many types and forms of love.

According to the Bible, "There is no greater love than to lay down his life for a friend."
(John 15:13).

Some of the most beautiful expressions of love I have experienced have been as a host.

Here's one recent expression given to me by my German guest who spent several weekends perfecting his mother's recipe for Vanillekipferl cookies, i.e., the German version of sugar cookies! He delivered them recently, even though they are usually enjoyed at Christmas! 🙂

So, while you are out there celebrating Romanic love, don't forget to honor all the other ways love shows up for you! For me, it is through my amazing guests from around the world!

No matter where you stand on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, let us all resolve that the killing and maiming of innocent children especially must be denounced and stopped.

Therefore, we stand in solidarity with world leaders like Pope Francis and Rev. Munther Isacc of Evangelical Lutheran Christmas Church and all people of goodwill and call on the Israeli government to show mercy and cease the "indiscriminate" bombing of Gaza.

Hello Guests!

The holidays, which start in November through Jan, are one of our favorite seasons to host our international guests

Why? Well, it's the time of the year when we immerse guests in some of the most beautiful American traditions and customs!

All have a fun time as the city is transformed into a "winter wonderland" featuring turkey, apple cider, hot cocoa, and Hallmark Christmas movies on a continuous play loop with family and friends!

First up is the annual Thanksgiving holiday celebrated every year on the 3rd Thursday in November.

It's one of our favorite holidays because it is the time of the year when hundreds of thousands of people travel to gather with their families around festive tables filled with traditional foods of turkey, ham, mac & cheese, sweet potatoes, collared greens, and rolls, to give thanks for the blessing of the year!

We started this Thanksgiving by joining for National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week for a day of giving back.

Niccolo, our guest from Italy, and I spent 3hrs serving over 50 homeless men and women at weekly food distribution. It was a beautiful yet humbling experience for both of us!

The experience led to some "lush" conversations about the lived experiences of the more than 5,000 people who go without shelter on any given night here in Philadelphia.

We both agreed to return and volunteer again for !

For Thanksgiving day, we shared it with Adrian, one of our former guests from Cuba. Adrien's famous Cuban rice and beans pair perfectly with our traditional Thanksgiving spread!

Thank you, Adrien, Niccolo, and all our guests we had the pleasure of hosting this year! We thank God for each of you and wish the sentiments of this holiday gratitude!--for you and your loved ones!

That's why when PA State Senator Vincent Hughes (husband to Oscar winner, Sheryl Lee Ralph)asked us to participate in his See Me Imagine You Career Day initiative it was an easy yes for us.

The See Me- Imagine You Career Day initiative aims to inspire our city's youth and next leaders to consider a range of professions that they may not have considered because they have yet to see people they look like in these professions.

Travel and Hospitality is one of those industries where few black and brown people are represented.

We plan to help change this by inspiring our city's youth to see themselves in a range of roles in the industry, including hotelier, entrepreneur, all the way to pilot, and beyond!

Here we are having some fun with Senator Hughes's See Me Imagine You informational session held at the beautiful Mann Center in West Philadelphia!

We were joined by hundreds of Philadelphia professionals who in the spring visited 18 public schools to share with young scholars their professions and individual journeys.

Senator Hughes wants to double the number of volunteers from 200 to 400 people next year.

If you are a Philadelphia professional, especially in a role/industry where few people of color are represented please consider volunteering!

'Tis the season for hosting amazing Christmas 🎄 parties and gatherings! We had the pleasure of attending a private concert with the president of our alma mater, Eastern University! President Ron Matthews is an accomplished pianist and has served as president of Eastern University for four years. He is well liked and his reputation as a humble, talented, kind and compassionate leader precedes him! We got to experience his talent first hand in a room of 30 other invited guests at his Carols and Conversation with the President concert! We loved hearing President Ron Matthews endearing stories of his time with his late and beloved piano teacher, and his 🎵 renditions of some of our favorite classic Christmas songs! My sister and I are honored to have a man of Ron's character and reputation leading our alma mater! We want to thank the Associate Vice President for Alumni and Family Engagement, Mr Tim Wortham for personally inviting! Did you know that there were "3,800 anti-asian racist incidences mostly against women, in the past year?" @kimmyam As a brand that promotes cultural immersion as a way to create a more kinder and empathetic world, we cannot think of a more deserving culture to highlight then the Asian culture! Some of our most memorable Airbnb guests were Asians/Asian Americans. Guests like Seohyeon who travelled from South Korea to stay in our home in 2019. Seohyeon was a robotics exchange student studying at the University Penn.
