Its Christmas Eve!! This was sure a quick season, 3 weekends. We, the neighbors on the Miracle on South 13th street want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or even Festivus!
At these times we hope you are spending it with family, friends and the people you love. We Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making us a part of your holiday tradition. Each year we do this because we want to put smiles on faces and spread some holiday spirit. That is why the 50 neighbors on the 1600 Block have spent mostly sweat and some blood (LOL) to do this free display for all to see how people can be united. We try to help charities during the season to help people in need, that will never stop because we believe it is the season of giving. Also a Big Thank You to the local businesses that helped us. This will be year 24 and we will continue to light up for many years to come! Again Merry Christmas Everyone and Happy Holidays!!

This Friday December 13th 5p -8p. While you come to see the lights, please stop by and help a local High School, The Academy of Palumbo. We are helping them with The Academy of Palumbo Home and School Association Griffin Fund! The Grinch will be there to help support the Griffin Fund!!!

What is The Griffin Fund?
In 2023, the Academy at Palumbo's Home and School Association launched The Griffin Fund, an annual fund used to fundraise for specific needs of our school that the School District of Philadelphia and traditional fundraising are unable to support. In collaboration with Principal Thompson, the PHSA helps identify those areas of need each year.

For 2024-2025, The Griffin Fund will support the "Health & Wellness" of Academy at Palumbo.
In collaboration with Principal Thompson, we are excited to announce that the “Health & Wellness” of Academy at Palumbo will be The Griffin Fund campaign for the 2024-2025 school year!

Hi Friends & Neighbors! We are getting close the Holiday season and we are working hard to have the lights shine brighter then ever! We have always tried to help with local Charities and Causes that make our Community a better place.

The 1st cause that we would like to help this season will be The Academy of Palumbo High School Griffin Fund (11th and Christian streets). Since October is Mental Health Awareness Month, The Palumbo Home and School Association have made "Health & Wellness" as their campaign for the 2024-2025 school year. The goal is $15,000 to help improve areas needed for the Health & Wellness of the students and faculty. So please spread the word and donate to help the Palumbo HSA reach their goal. Click on the link below to donate and see some before and after pictures. Thank you so much and we are looking forward to seeing everyone this Holiday Season!

Our Story

Every December the residents of the 1600 Block of South 13th Street celebrate the season by coming together and transforming their neighborhood into the Miracle on South 13th Street.

Located on South 13th Street between Tasker and Morris streets, neighbors use their own resources and decorations to adorn their home to reflect their personal style.

The lights can be enjoyed by foot (where you can get a close up look at many neighbors’ elaborate window displays) or by driving through (please NO stopping or honking). Street Parking is extremely limited so use of public transportation is strongly encouraged (we are 2 blocks from the Tasker/Morris subway stop).

Lights are on beginning the Saturday after Thanksgiving through New Years Day from 5pm-10pm. Santa and his gang occasionally visit the block, check our page for dates and times. While folks of all ages are welcome to come and visit us, we ask that you please remember to be respectful of those that live here year round and avoid littering or any loud and unruly behavior.
