Grief.

There are several definitions of grief, but most know it as the period of time after a loss and the subsequent response. A person in mourning faces a period of grieving with a range of emotional, mental, and physical reactions. In my own grief journey, I’ve experienced sadness, anger, confusion, stress & more.

National Grief Awareness Week (12/2-12/8) is a week-long observance that’s goal is to raise awareness about grief, provide support, and foster a better understanding of the grieving process in our community.

Help me bring awareness this week by opening your minds up to the idea that grief looks different for all. However, we do not grieve alone. Xoxo

Rescue.

Being a warm place to land for unwanted pups is a fulfilling part of this work I didn’t expect. Providing love and care to 17 pups as a foster this year has been an eye opening experience for my family. Fostering animals has reaffirmed for me a bigger purpose, and I am grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in their lives. Watching animals trust when they have no reason to is quite incredible.

What does it mean to be Thankful? The textbook definition is that “thankful” means being conscious of benefits received.

I say it often, but it is never lost on me that YOU allow me to continue to do what I love with joy & gratitude. Your trips are always safe with me! So, thank you!

15!!!

15 years since I agreed to commiserate over coffee after work on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Dinner, a cupcake shop, a bar & 9 hours later I got in cab back to my apartment & cried. Cried happy tears because I knew I was just in the presence of something I’ve not felt before.
