Frankfurt, Germany 🇩🇪 What a wonderful town.

Started the day walking 3 miles along the River Main to visit Höchst Castle. The castle dates back to the 14th century and is a historical gem.

After wandering the grounds and the town of Höchst, I boarded a train for a quick ride to Frankfurt.

I ended up in a neat section of the city called Römerberg, which is the town square. I visited the Cathedral of St Bartholomew, wandered past Museum row, and enjoyed an ice cream before jumping back on the train for a quick ride then a 20 minute walk in the rain.

It was so humid today…kind of rough for this AZ desert girl as I am so not used to it. It reminded me when I lived through New Jersey summers! 🤣

Good bye to the UK and hello Scandinavia! The next part of the trip begins with a cruise to Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Lithuania and Berlin.

The Caribbean Princess is beautiful and you can tell the company has sunk some considerable money into refurbishing it.

It is going to be such a nice change to actually unpack and eat real meals, I have been missing my veggies! Also ditching the backpack for 12 days is going to be a treat! 🎒

Stay tuned for pictures!

Counting down….Bon voyage at 4pm!

Road trip today!

I have a rental car for 6 days, and it is such a nice change from taking the train. Driving on the left has been interesting, but so far so good! Although Kate Lempka will tell you I hug the curb on the left, as she discovered when we were here in 2019! 🤣

Today I drove an hour, after a morning walk on the beach, to Dunrobin Castle! It was incredible. It reminded me of Cinderella’s castle with its 189 rooms, huge gardens overlooking Moray Firth, and I learned about falconry during a live show with a hawk and a peregrine falcon.

I’m praying for good weather tomorrow, as my goal is to hike to Fairy Glen Falls!

Stirling Scotland: it was a long travel day although it was only 30 minutes on the train. One thing about not renting a car is that you spend a lot of time waiting. Working on my patience is a side benefit of this trip, along with lots of reading…I am still entrenched in learning about my Gene Keys and of course my Kindle Is always available to dive into a good book.

Stirling Scotland is a beautiful town with incredible buildings and monuments depicting some incredible history. Tomorow will be full of sightseeing! I am headed to the Wallace Memorial, that commemorates Sir William Wallace, the 13th- and 14th-century Scottish hero, Stirling Castle and Dunblane Cathederal to name a few.

Tonight I wandered through a graveyard with headstones from the 1700’s…amazing!

Enjoy the pictures…there will be more tomorrow! 😂

Glasgow Scotland was fun! So much history here, and lots of museums to explore. I loved Glasgow Cathedral, it was amazing and to think it was built in the 1200’s is mind blowing.

Today I spent 3 hours roaming through the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and it’s 2 floors of exhibits. Then I enjoyed an organ performance with music that filled the building. I then walked to the Riverfront Museum which is all about transportation, and saw the VW Camper which brought back memories of our family’s first camping vehicle growing up in Las Vegas, but I think ours was tan colored.

I am off to Argyll and Bute tomorrow which involves a train and a ferry.⛴️
