We had the best time at Fossil Creek last week! In Arizona we are starved for water and adventures like this are so worth it. The falls are just 1.5 hours from our Cottonwood homes or 2-2.5 hours from Phoenix/Scottsdale. The falls here are the smaller ones but there was no one there but us at the moment. The larger falls are a little further down.

Permits available tomorrow for next month! They open up on the first of the month for the next month until October when they are no longer necessary until April.

It may be an unpopular opinion, but our guests don’t receive welcome gifts in our homes. Here’s why…
1. The costs add up. We’d have build the cost into fees, all for that “free gift”.
2. We have zero storage for food products. Our houses have no basements and most don’t have garages. Even if they do, they aren’t air conditioned. We can’t store food or drink out there, especially in the summer.
3. I personally take issue with the amount of effort put into welcome gifts when standard things haven’t been taken care of like having a fire extinguisher mounted near the kitchen, a decent vacuum available, enough dishes and forks for the number of people the house sleeps or offering more than one trash bag or roll of TP.
4. The waste. I’d hate to have to throw things out that may have been tampered with.
5. We don’t want to assume someone drinks alcohol or offer something that someone could be allergic to
