🎉 We are thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual Pickens Appalachian Folk Festival's Appalachian-Inspired Homemade Contest! 🎉

🏆 Show off your best homemade creations in one—or all—of these categories! There's no limit to how many items you can enter, and you're welcome to compete in multiple categories:

🥒 Pickled/Canned Goods
🍞 Sourdough Bread
🍰 Pound Cake

Important Details: 📅 Entries must be brought on Saturday, November 2. ⏰ Check-in begins at 11:00 AM at the registration table in front of the Pickens Amphitheater entrance.

The Greater Pickens Chamber of Commerce to Host Second Annual Pickens Appalachian Folk Festival

Pickens, SC, September 19, 2024 — The Greater Pickens Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the return of the Pickens Appalachian Folk Festival, taking place on November 1st-2nd, 2024. This two-day event celebrates the rich and unique Appalachian heritage of Northern Pickens County and the Upstate of South Carolina.

The festivities will kick off on Friday evening with live bluegrass music in the Pickens Amphitheater, setting the stage for a lively weekend. On Saturday, attendees can look forward to a full day of music, craft vendors, and mouthwatering food.

This year, we are especially proud to partner with the Holly Springs Appalachian Arts and Culture Center, which will be offering Appalachian culture demonstrations throughout Saturday. Festival-goers can experience the skills and traditions that have shaped this region for generations.

For our younger visitors, we’re excited to feature a Kids Zone, where children will have the opportunity to learn a traditional Appalachian skill, take part in fun activities, and bring home a special piece of Appalachian heritage.

The Pickens Appalachian Folk Festival promises to be a memorable event that highlights the beauty, music, crafts, and history of our Appalachian roots. We invite everyone to join us in celebrating this cherished culture.
