The Sweet Retreat At Pigeon Forge

We recently stopped by the gorgeous restaurant and were blown away by how beautiful it is. Although we didn’t have time to dine there that day, our long time friends/guests chose it for their 20th anniversary dinner and raved about it! It’s currently our top fine dining rec and my husband and I are planning a night out there this summer! Check out what our friends had to say about it below.

“Our 20th anniversary dinner at Dancing Bear was SO amazing. We had one of the nicest, best waiters ever; he spent lots of time with us and even gave us recs on hikes and other things for our time here. We also got to chat with the manager several times.
The restaurant itself has a rustic modern feel- that is fancy but not stuffy at all. We ordered steak, halibut and sticky toffee pudding. We would have licked the plates if we could!!
They also own their own creamery and brewery. So our beer was fresh as was the ice cream!”

If you’re headed there from The Sweet Retreat, plan on about a 40 minute drive each way through the most beautiful country including Wears Valley.

Hello, Weekend!

A few weeks ago one of our guests sent us this adorable photo from her trip to .ranch

We haven’t had the chance to go ourselves yet so I asked for a quick highlight recap of her visit and she had lots of info to share! She opted to add on the mountain coaster and the Safari Hayride to her ticket and said the hayride was one of her favorite memories. She also loved the various entertainers performing throughout the ranch and said there were so many attractions for people of all ages to enjoy from animals to shopping, yard games, kids area, gem mining and photo-ops galore!

We can’t wait to check it out for ourselves soon!

If you’re looking for some down-home cookin’, look no further than in Wears Valley! We stopped for a delicious lunch filled our bellies with chicken and waffles and the most delicious roasted turkey crepe! Fried green tomatoes were a MUST for a side item.

The service was fast and friendly, portions were large and reasonably priced and the country-cafe ambiance was authentic and just what you want for an East TN mountain getaway stop off. Bonus points, it’s right next door to so you can eat all the things and then wander next door and spend the rest of your money (which is exactly what we did!)

We don’t normally do one-night stays for lots of logistical reasons…BUT…we have two different one-night options available in May if you’re looking to take a quick trip! Sunday, May 12th also happens to be Mother’s Day, so if you haven’t bought a gift yet, you could send your Mom on relaxing getaway!

was a blast for our tiny friend as she putted her way through both the indoor mermaid course and the outdoor rooftop sky pirate option! The decor is clever and getting her face painted was the cherry on top (and at only $5, the parents were equally happy!) Another great mini golf option in PF!

Our 150th review on came in today and we are so excited to have hit this milestone in less than 2 years of hosting! It was a delight to host Brandon and his wife and help them celebrate his birthday and rest a bit after welcoming a new baby last fall!

When we bought our cabin, it was actually named “The Honey House” (and originally “Brookstone Breeze” before that!) We renamed it “The Sweet Retreat At Pigeon Forge,” but I kept this cute little Welcome bee sign on the back porch as an homage to all the amazing memories that were made in this incredible place before it was ours! We are so grateful to still have some Honey House returning guests and to get to continue the legacy of hospitality that was laid in the foundation of this cabin.

Our find was this amazing set of knives! Our other set was getting a little tired and we are all about keeping things fresh and new. These are gorgeous and functional; a perfect find anyway you slice it!

No secret that is our fave pit stop becuase 1) kolaches 2) icees 3) clean potties

We had a blast stopping at the new location. It is overwhelmingly gigantic which is saying a lot because that’s sort of the status quo for but still a win. Also loved the fun murals!
