Gatlinburg will close some roads for its New Year’s Eve celebration at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday December 31.

Dollywood is experiencing high demand for parking today (Monday, Dec. 30). At this time, we encourage guests to park at alternate locations, including Pigeon Forge’s Patriot Park, and ride city transportation to Dollywood. As guests leave Dollywood throughout the afternoon and evening, spots will open if you plan to visit later tonight."

High Wind Warning issued December 27 at 11:59AM EST until December 28 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Morristown TN

Areas Affected

Cocke Smoky Mountains; Southeast Greene; Blount Smoky Mountains; Sevier Smoky Mountains

Details

* WHAT...South winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 80 mph.

* WHERE...Blount Smoky Mountains, Cocke Smoky Mountains, Sevier
Smoky Mountains, and Southeast Greene Counties.

* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.

Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive.

The National Park will close due to high winds. Plan your day accordingly.
