We took my old jeep up Hardscrabble Mesa Road yesterday and found a stand of maples tucked in between the pine trees. What a beautiful day and a fun ride. (You don’t need a jeep to go up this road, it’s just more fun that way).😄

Part of the race route is on Bradshaw Drive where our cabin is located. If you aren't riding in the race, it's really fun to sit out front or on the upper balcony and cheer the cyclists on! As of this moment, we have that weekend open. 😊

My New Year's Eve guests were so nice, and so understanding of the power outage, the snow, and the missing firewood delivery. Their son left us this picture, referring to feeding Sammy the Squirrel his favorite sunflower seeds, as well as the Christmas tree, the big windows, and other parts of the house. So sweet!

I made it to Pine through rain and fog, took this amazing picture. If it’s possible to take the route past Lower Salt River and Saguaro Lake when you come, it’s so worth it.

The babies and their mamas came to visit today. They wouldn’t let the young male anywhere near them. One of the mamas even kicked him and bit him on the rump when he came too close. Then he hopped up on the patio where I was sitting. Scary!

We took a walk to the meadow from Cletus Ray Drive at sunset. Elk were in the pond but they ran away before I could get a picture.

Sammy is finding hidden seeds in the snow. It’s a beautiful, sunny day in Pine.

It’s raining all over the area of the fire! Yippee! That’s got to help the firefighters.

Kids with our most recent guests build this stick fort in the back yard. How creative and fun!

Hiking trails start with a 10 minute walk from the cabin. Bring your mountain bikes for even more adventure!

The sky is blue, the air is clean, and cool days and chilly nights await! I have an opening the weekend of March 19, bring the kids and and wrap up Spring Break with nature and joy at The Wandering Elk!
