During a visit to Disneyland last month, I arrived in Anaheim and had time to kill. So, I decided to check out the resorts and the first one I happened to visit was Pixar Place Hotel. Themed after Pixar movies, this resort is so colorful and inviting. They have Pixar-themed accommodations, a special entrance to California Adventure Park, a great spot to watch the fireworks show, a possible character encounter and dining. I didn’t stay there but chose to check out the lobby and hang out on one of the tables at Sketch Pad Café. I drank my cold brew coffee and watch Pixar Shorts on a screen. It was the perfect way to just chill and relax in a fun environment. And you don’t have to be a guest to enjoy some of what the resort offers. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is testing a new single rider line. If you don’t mind being separated from your party and missing a lot of the preshow, you have a greater chance of getting to the front of the line faster (I did it four times in a row with Smugglers Run at Disneyland recently).

The single rider entrance is near the exit of the attraction. No word of this will the temporary or permanent.

Today is Travel Tip Tuesday, where I bring you a favorite travel tip.

Airport parking can be expensive. Quite expensive in some cases. Recently, I took a trip to California and flew out of Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Instead of parking at the airport, I chose to stay around a cheap Motel 6 that had parking for $7.50 each night if I wanted to leave my car there while I was on my trip. The one night stay at the hotel and parking for multiple nights ended up being cheaper than parking my car at the airport.

Other hotels in the area also charged the same amount for parking each night and shared the same shuttle. I’m definitely going to look into this option when I fly again.
