While driving on the Parkway, you may be inclined to look at the scenic views; however, you don't want to miss the milepost markers.

These small posts, located on the right edge of the road if you're traveling south, measure each mile so you know how far you have traveled. The official parkway map, available in park visitor centers, is milepost referenced, and once you're oriented to your current location and know where you're headed, it's an excellent wayfinding tool.
