Half the fun of travel is the planning process. With Aruba and Curacao a few months away, I decided to do a little research. Being there for a short time, I want to make the most of it.

In Aruba, I decided to rent a car and do some exploring. In Curacao I am leaning towards a private tour to make the most out of the day. Private tour will take you to some of the local spots and markets while exploring the history of the island, plus I won't have to drive.

Doing research before you leave is so important.

This holiday season start a new tradition on making memories. Life is short - start checking off that bucket list!

Ever think about heading to beautiful Venice to buy a paper mache mask or travel to Vatican to see the Sistine Chapel. What about taking a stroll and have dinner on the coast of Cinque Terre in Liguria, Italy? I have done all the above and I can tell you it is amazing.

Since I am heading to Aruba in a few short months, I decided to do some additional research...

Some fun Aruba Facts :
Arubans have Dutch nationality, but you can pay with US dollars pretty much anywhere.

For all you beer drinkers... did you know they brew their on beer at a local plant.

Most countries have issues with the water but not here in Aruba... locally produced water is among the best in the world.

Aruba has the sunniest days of any island in the Caribbean - Oh come on February - Plus it is outside the hurricane belt!!

Aruba gained independence only in 1986.

Not sure about you - but I already booked my February school vacation. Now is the time to start booking for the spring. Why not add a vacation under the Christmas tree. Norwegian has some budget friendly options out of NYC, which saves on the airfare for us NY and Boston upstaters!
Just think about it - one price includes your room, all food, WIFI, open bar (worth it!!) endless entertainment and so much more. Some people are worried " Will I get bored"? I tell people that cruises are floating cites. You can be as busy as you want or as chill as you want...
February is coming up - what a great warm Christmas present!

After my tour on the Disney Wish last month - I decided to take the plug and book a Disney cruise!

I have been on many cruise liners but never Disney. We didn't go for the balcony since it is a shorter cruise but I did get a porthole so I can see sun (interior room I can never tell what time it is since it is always dark)!

I am decided to take a 3-day Disney Cruise NEXT October. Doing it next year was more pocket friendly for cruise and air tickets!

Random thought of the day ....

How many airports have you slept in and name them...

I'll start

1- JFK - Flying home after living overseas in Italy- miss my connection to VT and slept on the floor with lots of others

2- Rome Fumicino Airport- trying to get back to southern Italy amd Ryan Air decided to strike. Slept on a coffee table that time :)

3- Athens Greece- another airline strike....

4 Boston Logan - slept there for two days straight- ice storm.

Surprisingly I always get out of Chicago!!

Sometimes you have to go with the flow- and pack tooth brush on your carry on!!

Recently had a friend return from Alaska and asked her for feedback - how can I and Litterini Travel serve her better...

Hi Patty - per your request see my feedback below:

What did you like the most?

The thing I liked the most was knowing that you were there to help us with anything we may need, or any questions we may have during the entire process. It was comforting knowing there was someone there to help us since neither of us have ever been on a cruise before. When my credit card was declined you took action so quickly and got it taken care of within minutes!

What would you have done over.

Nothing? I think everything went as smoothly as it could have. If anything, I would do stuff over because I enjoyed it so much! Particularly the Crab Feast!!

How were the accommodations?

The accommodations were great. I had set my expectations kind of low since neither Jason or I have ever been on a cruise before and I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the room and storage space on the Norwegian Jewel.

How could I improve my services for next time.

I can’t think of anything for you to improve upon. The only negative part of the entire trip was the lack of time in our layover between Vancouver and Anchorage. Since we had to go through customs and security during that layover, we almost missed our final connection. For future Alaskan cruises it might be a good idea to plan a slightly longer layover between Canada and the U.S. ports of entry.
