This beautiful cabin called Study@LostCavern has become available! We stayed at their other cabin Ledge@LostCavern, and it was one of the most amazing cabins we stayed in.⁠

It is beautiful inside and outside. Surrounded by beautiful trees and great hiking trails.

This beautiful modern A-Frame cabin is called Dunlap Hollow. The cabin is newly built. It was built in March of 2021.

It sleeps up to 10 guests with 3 bedrooms and a picturesque loft filled with windows that sleeps 4.

🍁🌿🍂 Babcock State Park in WV is a great park to visit for a Fall Weekend Getaway.

📍 Located about a 4-hour drive from Pittsburgh and only 15min away from New River Gorge National Park in WV.

The park is most known for the Glade Creek Grist Mill and Falls. It is one of the most photographed spots in WV. The mill is breathtakingly scenic. You can sit by the mill and water and just enjoy the view and nature.

The park offers a variety of recreational activities, including hiking, fishing, mountain biking, and whitewater rafting nearby in the New River Gorge.

New River Gorge National Park is right next to Babcock State Park.

🍁🌳🍂 Robert Treman State Park near Ithaca NY is another fantastic place to visit for a Fall Weekend Getaway. Watkins Glenn and Taughannock Falls are near there as well.

📍 Located in Finger Lakes Region near Ithaca NY.

Really gorgeous park with spectacular scenery and lovely waterfalls and great hiking trails. Rim and Gorge trails, going up each side of the stream, are about two miles each way and are spectacular ✨. ⁠⁠

The lower falls area has a lovely waterfall. In the summer, you can even swim there (a short level hike from the parking lot) and a playground area.⁠⁠

FALL 🍂 is a great time for a cozy & romantic getaway with a fireplace and a whirlpool bath 🔥

Stay in Red Coach Inn near Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls is incredibly beautiful during the fall. The Inn overlooks the spectacular Upper Rapids and is located just 500 yards from the American Falls.

📍 Located about a 3.5-hour drive from Pittsburgh.

We picked Red Coach Inn because it has nearly perfect reviews on Tripadvisor, is very reasonably priced, and is located really close to Niagara Falls.

The Inn has been welcoming guests since 1923 and was built to resemble the Bell Inn in Finedon, England.

🌹 This romantic and historic hotel offers beautiful rooms with king-size beds, fireplaces, and a whirlpool bath.

Lindy Point and Pendleton Point Overlook make for an amazing view of the Fall Foliage.

Blackwater Falls is a 57-foot waterfall 🌊 and one of the most photographed sights in West Virginia. The Falls can be seen from both the west and east sides. The east side is accessed via a very easily accessible trail. The west side has a closer view (with the boardwalk).⁠⁠

🍁🌳🍂 Coopers Rock State Forest makes for a gorgeous Fall Weekend Getaway. Take the Coopers Rock Trail for amazing views of the Fall Foliage. ⁠

The park features canyon overlooks, historic sites, picnic shelters, 50 miles of hiking and biking trails, sandstone cliffs for climbing and bouldering, cross-country ski terrain, a lake perfect for reeling in trout, and a nearby river for rafting 🛶🚴‍♂️🎣.⁠⁠

The Coopers Rock Trail is a short and easy hike, and you walk out on the edge of a large rock with a railing. The views are just amazing!✨ ⁠⁠⁠
Another interesting trail is the Rock City Trail. The first part of the hike takes you through very tall trees. Then about halfway through, you are surrounded by rocks that are about 15 to 30 feet tall! 🧗⁠⁠

🍁🌳🍂 You do not need to go far to see gorgeous fall colors. Ohiopyle State Park makes for a great fall getaway.

📍 Located only about 1-hour drive from Pittsburgh, this 20,500 acres park is located in the Laurel Highlands and is home to several waterfalls.

Visit Cucumber Falls, Ohiopyle Falls, and Baughman Rock Vista Overlook to see beautiful views.

The Cucumber Falls and The Ohiopyle Falls are very easily accessible and offer stunning views.

The Baughman Rock Overlook gives you a gorgeous birds-eye view of the park.

Astonishing views, cliff walls, waterfalls, and picturesque hiking trails all make Pine Creek Gorge one of the top destinations to see Fall Foliage.⁠

To see fall colors head to two "must-see" lookout points:⁠
- Colton Point lookout on the west rim of the canyon.⁠

🍁🌳🍂 Anyone looking for a colorful Fall Weekend Getaway? ⁠

Pennsylvania has a longer and more varied fall foliage season than any other state in the nation! ⁠
⁠
Leaves start to turn in PA in late September. The peak of Fall Foliage for this year is predicted to be the weeks of October 9 and 16. Though different areas in PA have different peaks. ⁠

🌲When vising Hocking Hills State Park (see the previous post) we stayed at a really gorgeous Ledge@LostCavern Cabin(Lost Cavern)

The cabin was simply amazing. Inspired by architects Frank Lloyd Wright and Philip Johnson it is fully integrated with the surrounding caves, tall pine trees, and small waterfalls.

📍 Located about 3h and 30min drive from Pittsburgh⁠⁠

It is fully secluded and located on 24 private acres. We felt like we were in the middle of the forest. But it is only a 10min drive from all the Hocking Hills State Park main trails and attractions.

The cabin has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and sleeps 6 people. There is a 7 person hot tub, outdoor fireplace and gorgeous views of caverns with small seasonal waterfalls.

While staying at the cabin we visited Hocking Hills State Park a few times and hiked 3 of their 7 beautiful trails (see future posts). The hikes were pretty early and our 5-year-old was able to easily do them. There are quite a few stairs though on some of the hikes. But some of the hikes (like Ash Cave Hike) are wheelchair accessible and can be hiked without steps.

There are a lot of attractions in Hocking Hills Area including Canopy Tours, Ziplining, Horse Back Riding, Wineries and much more.

The cabin is fully booked. But they do have cancelations from time to time. I managed to book it when someone else canceled :).

They almost completed another cabin on the same property. The second cabin is also gorgeous and all walls are made of glass.
