Beginning September 2, 2022, for sailings departing US and Canadian ports, Disney Cruise Line will ONLY require Guests ages 12 and older to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of sailing, as defined by the CDC. In consideration of CDC guidance, Disney Cruise Line highly recommends that Guests ages 11 and younger be fully vaccinated before sailing.

Day 4

Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon | Diamond Beach | Skaftafell Wilderness Area

Visit the Skaftafell Wilderness Area and view some of its wonders: glaciers, waterfalls, a snow-capped volcano and lava fields. Savor lunch with a view of the surrounding countryside at the Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon.

Visit the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where bright blue and white icebergs dot the waters.

Head to nearby Diamond Beach and marvel at glistening natural ice sculptures on the black sands.

Return to your accommodation and dine independently this evening.

LAVA Center | Skogar Folk Museum | Skogafoss Waterfall | Black Sand Beach

Visit the LAVA Center to learn about Iceland’s volcanoes, and how their eruptions and lava flows have shaped the country over time. Visit the Skogar Folk Museum to explore Iceland’s cultural heritage and learn about the lives of Iceland’s early settlers through an array of tools, books, and handicrafts. Visit the nearby Skogafoss Waterfall, where on sunny days a double rainbow is often visible.

Discover Reynisfjara’s black sand beach and rock formations along with the legends
of its history. Dine at your hotel tonight.

Today's incredible Icelandic fact!

"Silfra is the only place in the world where you can dive or snorkel directly in a crack between two tectonic plates. The earthquakes of 1789 opened up several fissures in the Thingvellir area, but the Silfra fissure cut into the underground spring filled with glacial meltwater from the nearby Langjökull glacier. You can extend your arms and literally touch 2 continents at the same time! (Europe and North America)."

Did you know...

The water in Iceland is extremely pure and refreshing and you can drink it from every tap in Iceland. Best of all, it’s completely free!
You can also drink water in most rivers in Iceland. The further out of the city you are, the purer the water tends to be. Enjoy it and fill up a water bottle when exploring the country!

Let's talk traditions!

Do you have a special place that your family likes to visit each year?
Do you have any traditions once you are all together again?

Every year, we take 1 evening to do something together (that's planned).
Our tradition is to wear matching tyedye shirts (with some sorta saying on them) and walk down the beach to a food stand called . We eat the best food then cross the street and enjoy adult beverages at the while we watch the kids play together in the sand. Afterwards, we head back to our place, get the kids settled in for the night, and play "what do you meme".

These are my absolute favorite memories from the week. My stomach always hurts the next day from laughing so much!

I've been traveling to this island since I was 6 months old...
And I never.. I repeat NEVER... knew about these outdoor bar swings until recently!

This is, bar far, one of favorite places to get a cold drink and some amazing apps!

One of my favorite nights on vacation is the last night.

Everyone pulls the food from their fridge, freezer, or pantry that they didn't eat during our stay.
We bring it all together, cook with each other, drink some cocktails, and have the most random pot luck dinner!

(This includes alcohol and kids drinks, too!)

I'm baaaack!

Thank you all so much for your patience while I was on vacation!

We spend 1 week, every year, on the island of Ft. Myers Beach.
What started as just us, has now expanded into more than 30 people.. all family and friends.

We have a tradition of taking a family photo each year, on the same tree.

The days are slow but the years are fast.
Look at this transformation.

My heart is full.

Each day, I will share photos with all of you and a little tale about each one.
