The Igloo is now available for vacation rentals, romantic getaways, and other short term stays. We do not offer the home for parties or other gatherings/events. This unique home was built in 1969 by Pittsburgh native Joseph Yacoboni, who received a US Patent in 1975 for the construction method. Yaca-Domes were mentioned in the January 1975 issue of Popular Science magazine. The house was designed

to withstand earthquakes and 250 mph hurricanes...not something we normally have to worry about here in the 'Burgh!
