Wednesday, October 4th, FEMA is conducting a national test for emergency alerts. Your phone will get the alert anywhere from 2:20 pm (Eastern time) to 2:50 pm.

The sudden noise of this alert could disclose the location of your hidden device, so it's best to power it completely down during that time.

Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. will host a Free Kids’ Paint & Sip and Scavenger Hunt* on Friday, September 1, 5 to 7 pm, in the outdoor seating area next to Hot Harry’s and in front of the Marketplace Cafe (37 & 53 North Street). *Scavenger Hunt: 5 to 8 pm

This free Back-to-School-themed Paint & Sip is best suited for ages 5 to 12, although younger and older children are welcome. All materials, instruction, snacks, and juice will be provided. Children are welcome to drop in anytime over the course of the event, and all children must be accompanied by an adult.

*The Free Kids’ Scavenger Hunt for art will be held from 5 to 8 pm on September 1 during the First Fridays Artswalk. Children who complete the hunt will receive a coupon for a free ice cream. A copy of the hunt can be picked up on September 1 at the Kids’ Paint & Sip beginning at 4:45 pm. Kids should return to the site of the Kids’ Paint & Sip no later than 8 pm with a completed Scavenger Hunt to claim their prize!

Tomorrow night, from 5p-7p, our FREE National Night Out event is happening at the Common on First St. Not only will there be a ton of fun things for the whole family, but we also have a Shire Donuts donut decorating station!! Toppings include icing, breakfast cereal, Takis, and of course a healthier option, coleslaw! Donuts are limited to 1 per child, 2 for police officers🤣. When they're gone, they're gone!

FREE Meals for Youth at the Pittsfield Farmers Market, Saturdays through August 26

All youth under 18 are welcome to get FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH at the Pittsfield Farmers Market each Saturday, now through August 26. Breakfast is served 9 to 10:30 am, and lunch is served 11:30 am to 1 pm.

In partnership with the Pittsfield Public Schools' Food Services Program, the Pittsfield Farmers Market is proud to be a Summer Eats meal site, helping ensure our community's youth have access to nutritious meals when school is out for summer.

The Pittsfield Farmers Market is the only free breakfast and lunch site open on weekends in all of Berkshire County!

Pittsfield Police Department is hosting at the Common on First St. This is a national event where law enforcement agencies across the country host an event of fun for the whole family. There will be games, music, Magician, Balloon Art, and Face Painting. Event goers will have an opportunity to dunk and officer, as well as create their own 🍩donuts! Emergency vehicles will be on scene for a "Touch-A-Truck. will have your favorite ice cream treats!

Best of all, this event is FREE to the community.
