Fun fact: Cronan Ranch Park was originally an old ranch that Michael Cronan bought from the Central Pacific Railroad.⁠

American River Conservancy purchased both Cronan and Magnolia Ranches in 2004 and subsequently gave these lands to the BLM. ⁠

This protected recreational playground boasts 12 miles of trails for hiking, fishing, biking, birdwatching, and other adventures along the South Fork of the American River. In winter, the undulating hills are covered in breathtaking green foliage and make for a great day hike!⁠
