Little Gasparilla Cloud 9

Little Gasparilla Cloud 9 Cloud 9 on the beach - Little Gasparilla Island! Your vacation destination to relax & enjoy life at I fell in love with everything about the island.

In 2008, my boyfriend brought me to Little Gasparilla Island for the first time. In 2012, we came back as husband and wife and brought our daughter. She opted to stay on the island the entire week and skip the Florida attractions. Like us she was hooked. We took her fishing, shell and shark tooth hunting and taught her how to boogie board. In 2016, we came back with all three of our children. We v

isited the Florida sites, but gave most the time to our little island. It was during this time that my husband and I started talking about how perfect it would be to retire on Little Gasparilla. We found some land and when we got home we started negotiations. We closed on the property and came back in the spring of 2017 to see the land and start to visual our dream. Pilings went up in the fall of 2017 and the house is starting to become a reality. My husband and I are not ready to retire yet, so we made the decision to rent out our dream so that others can come to paradise and enjoy it as much as we do. We would love for you to come visit and share your memories. One visit and we are sure you will be hooked like us, and we would love to hear about the memories that you have made. We will continue to post pictures from our visits and of the creation of the house. Rentals will be available in 2018. We are so excited to have you make our home and island yours.

Still one of my favorite finds. Was so fitting to find it around Easter. Hope everyone is enjoying this Easter Sunday. ...

Hurricane Milton took our storage area and almost everything inside couldn’t be found or salvaged. However we did find our shark’s teeth collection from our 2020 stay during the COVID shut down. They were buried in the sand, where our storage area had been, with the glass jars still intact. These had great sentimental value and we couldn’t believe they weren’t scattered and broken! This last trip, we started a new collection and had about 2 cups of sharks teeth after being there 10 days. If you want to find shark’s teeth, LGI is the place to go!

Day 10: I realized I didn’t have any interior photos this week. The ocean and sunset can be seen from most the rooms. ā¤ļøšŸŒ“ Also the sunset was AMAZING tonight.

Couldn’t add this video to my ā€œDay 8ā€ video, but we got up for the sunrise on day 8. Being a night owl, it’s hard to get up before the sunrises but so worth it!! Recommend seeing the sunrise at least once on a trip to the island, even for those night owls! šŸ¦‰

Day 9. We stayed around the house most the day because it was windy on the beach but did collect enough shells to finish our shell garden. Also was able to catch our local eagle.

The last days on the island got away from me so sorry for late postings.

Day 8. Borrowed a neigbors kayak and went out on the bay. It was pretty windy, so no manatee or dolphin springs but some fish were jumping. Then took another walk on the beach towards the south end.

Day 8. We worked during the day on yard work. Lost our hydrangea bushes so gave the kids a job of making shell gardens. Finished one and started the second. Most shells were picked up just this week. The birds were out to keep us company on the beach.

The days are going too fast. I am so into vacation mode, that I can’t even remember to post my daily videos. What do I do all day? Well today, watching this friend took up a chunk of the day. šŸŒ“ā¤ļø

Day 7. Today was a cleanup/house maintenance day, so not too much action but still got a trip to the beach. Also took a long swim. Water was warm and calm.

Day 6. We chartered a fishing guy. Doug is AMAZING. Came back exhausted, a little sunburnt, but with lots of fish. Bonus we were back for the sunset. Sorry the photos are a bit out of order.

Day 5. Walk to the south end, but then we had to take a trip to the mainland for guest supplies. I would recommend not going off island if you don’t have to. (I just hate leaving the island!) We got back just in time for the sunset and more beach fun.

Day 4. Took a short walk on the island ā€œroadsā€. Then I took a longer walk on the beach at sunset. Saw some island ā€œfriendsā€ throughout the day. We even snuck some card games and movies in during cool down times.

Day 3. Walked to Don Pedro State Park and Palm Island. Picked up some shells and sharks teeth on the way. Had a couple minutes of rain that gave to some great photos.

Day 2. Beach walk to the south. Also had an unexpected trip to the main land so decided to drive out to Boca Grande. Dinner was great at Mamas if you like Italian!

Day 1. We have received a lot inquiries of what a vacation on LGI would be like so we decided to record some of our days on LGI.
