I started in February 2022, so I am working on my second year with the company.

Having a favorite anything, I feel, would imply I value one thing over another. Something I enjoy most about IDS is the vibrant and upbeat office vibe. Working in an environment where everyone feels like family is an important aspect to me. Here I get to greet the CEO while grabbing coffee in the morning and he knows me by name!

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐃𝐒?:
My job here at IDS requires me to be open to any and all possibilities the day might bring. I feel like this might be what I enjoy most. Every day there is new project to complete, a new challenge to overcome, a new lesson to be learned and sometimes a new customer to get to know. Some might find this daily life exhausting or stressful and others like myself, perceive it as spontaneous or adventurous.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤?:
When I am not at work, I spend my free time working at home. There is always a project that needs done around the house and I am the type to roll up my sleeves and tackle it head on. With access to the world at my fingertips, if I come across something I do not know how to do, I usually research it and figure it out! I have done simple task from patching holes in the walls or switching out a faucet, to the most recent difficulty of laying carpet. I can attest that laying carpet is not fun at all and if you can afford it, pay for an installer.

𝐀𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞?:
I am just Sarah. I have two very handsome young men that call me mom and they are my world. My oldest Isaiah is 22 and my youngest Elijah will be 16 this fall. I also have 3 fur babies who follow me everywhere I go, Charlie our Labrador, Mimi our Australian Shepherd and Bella the Pug! Between work, home, my husband and friends; life never gives me dull moments. With all the negativity in the world today, I am truly Blessed beyond measure!

Location is one of the most important factors when choosing a fulfillment partner. But there is more to it than who is closest to your customer, several other factors must be considered to ensure a successful partnership.

Cost of Living and Labor: How expensive is it to live in the area? The more expensive it is to live, the higher the labor prices, ultimately impacting your bottom line.

Real Estate Market: Is the area fully developed or still growing? If there is a shortage of space in a given market, the higher your fulfillment partner's overhead which will have to be passed on.

Tax Environments: Does the state and/or city encourage business growth? Offer incentives? Finding a fulfillment partner with lower tax liability can lead to cost savings!

Shipping Zones: Shipping zones not only give you an idea of transit times, but also mean pricing differences. Find the optimal location based on your customer distribution to minimize your shipping zones, but be sure to consider the cost savings from the above categories!

UPS and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the union representing about 330,000 UPS employees in the U.S., have reached a tentative collective bargaining agreement.

“Together we reached a win-win-win agreement on the issues that are important to Teamsters leadership, our employees and to UPS and our customers,” said Carol Tomé, UPS chief executive officer. “This agreement continues to reward UPS’s full- and part-time employees with industry-leading pay and benefits while retaining the flexibility we need to stay competitive, serve our customers and keep our business strong.”

Ask and you shall receive! Some people wanted to see more about what it looks like to work along side the Locus Robotics bots.

At nineteen, he moved to Utah and began his remarkable career in warehousing. Since then, he's been an invaluable asset to IDS Fulfillment, making a significant impact for three decades!

Renee is joining IDS as a Human Resources Manager. With over 23 years of experience in talent management and retention within the transportation industry, she also has a foundation in benefits management, payroll systems, and leveraging technology in HR. Her strategic approach and ability to navigate complex challenges have resulted in successful departmental structures and the implementation of key initiatives to support mass hiring efforts.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Renee embraces the joys of family life. After being married for 9 years, she and her husband have recently become empty nesters, eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first grandchild in November.

Renee looks forward to leveraging her experience and passion for HR to contribute to the success and growth of IDS!
