Say Hello to Annie, our little bottle baby, she's literally AND figuratively a handful. The kids wanted to name her something else, but I insisted on Annie. Because I wanted to be able to say "Annie, are you ok?". 🤣🤣🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
But on a serious note, we didn't think she'd make it through her first night. She's half the size of her sibling, and wouldn't eat or really even move around. After trying every different ni**le size, I found a $1 baby bottle at the dollar store and she loves it! Now she's 4 days old and growing and playing and eating off Mom a little! There is no way we were gonna let this little cutie just die without trying!!

I truly and genuinely don't believe there is a better way to enjoy and appreciate God's creations than standing in a mountain stream, wrestling wild Trout on a tiny, fragile hook and line. I'm a straight up drug pusher when it comes to bringing people into the Fly Fishing life. If I haven't harassed you about it yet, don't worry, I will. 😈😈😈

On my mind. I just can't say enough about the integrity of these bumpers. I've been running custom bumpers on trucks for over 20 years and I've NEVER seen a bumper take a hit like this and stay smiling. When my truck got to the collision center, the owner said he's never seen a heavy duty truck with that level of frame damage. The frame horn bent so badly, it tore nearly in half. Yet, the front bumper barely gave. You can see through the series of pictures how bad the frame looks, while the bumper only bent inward slightly and took some cosmetic gashes.
So, or all you custom truck geeks who asked me about how I feel about this bumper company... here it is. Not only are they sexy, unique, and highly functional, but they can take a nasty hit and not give an inch!! I highly credit this bumper for why I walked away from this wreck with just a concussion and some minor burns and bruises. 🤘🤘🤘

Well guys, it's official! The Mega Cab is dead. Total loss is the only option because frame is ripped almost all the way through on the front corner.
For those who missed it, last Monday I went full corner to corner impact with a red light runner. Luckily I was alone and the drivers of the other three cars involved are all okay. Every now and then we get little reminders of how quickly our lives can change and how little control we have at times. There were no skidding tires, no evasive maneuvers, no warning. I was proceeding through an intersection when suddenly my airbags exploded in my face and my truck spun. Some bruises and burns, and a concussion were a small price to pay for walking away unharmed.
I've spent the last 15 months building this truck from scratch and even though I don't care about the truck itself, it was a project of passion and was the dream truck I've wanted my whole life. Aside from the obvious silver lining of not being badly hurt, I guess it will be fun to build another truck! Stay tuned for mega cab 2.0.
Also, I'm so grateful and appreciative of all of the family and friends who have reached out to me to check on me and offered help of various kinds with insurance and finding another vehicle! 🤘🤘

This was my favorite Trout if the weekend. After spending two days losing every fight with several big Trout, I BADLY needed a win. I was so happy to hook up with a Brown, which as everyone knows is my favorite. I know he doesn't look big (I have big hands) but he was pretty beefy, and put up a good fight!

Teaching my son how to locate, track, and set up shots on moving animals with a scope on a full bore rifle. He's only 10, so it will still be another year or two before I'm confident that he's emotionally ready to kill a big game animal. But, starting now on breathing exercises, and feeling the animal without the pressure of taking the shot will help him tremendously when the time comes. . Everyone has different parenting styles, it's no different with the outdoors. I'm a STRONG advocate for youth hunting, however, I don't believe children should take a life before they're emotionally accountable. I see more and more people making their 5-10 year old kids shoot big game, and I don't believe children of that age are evolved enough to TRULY grasp the magnitude of taking that life. . As a product of heavy childhood and early adulthood trauma and abuse, I am constantly accounting for the long term ramifications of every decision I make for my children. Things that may seem "fine" now, WILL manifest later. It's inevitable, it's nature. Be sure you're considering what your decisions for your children today, will mean when they're adults. Sound on! 🔊 There are few things I enjoy more than Bugling Bull Elk on mountain timberline during the fall rut. This was a dead silent morning and the bugles echoed for miles. We got some good responses but they we're moving slowly away from us. Still gets my blood pumping hard!! . Side note: My technique isn't perfect, no one's is. In fact, if you listen closely to actual Elk, they crack notes, miss octaves, make mistakes, and have many variations in their bugling too. 🤘🤘
