Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello to Scott & Elizabeth at the Travel and Adventure Show in NY last weekend. Our wonderful dancers from The New York Studio of Irish Step Dance put on a fabulous show on Saturday and our prize winners were delighted to carry home Johnnie Walker’s brand new offering as well as a gorgeous brooch from Newbridge Silverware. Next weekend Scott and Elizabeth are heading to the Windy City - watch this space for a picture of Scott flying the flag for Sheenco in a traditional Scottish kilt!

Harry Potter fans will immediately recognise Alnwick Castle as one of the movie locations but the castle was also used for Downton Abbey and Transformers! Hadrians wall & Vindolanda are close by and offer a glimpse into Roman life in Britain. A good stop en-route is Twice Brewed Inn which has a taproom onsite.All of these an be included on an England itinerary with us!

Today Liz left Durham and headed to Newcastle. First stop was the Beamish Museum which is amazing! You could literally spend the entire day here. They have recreated entire little villages from the 1940's and 50's and further back to give a taste of life in those times and it has been used in Downtown Abbey. Then it was on to the Angel Of The North for a short stop to view this magnificent sculpture by Anthony Gormley! A huge Sunday lunch banquet style followed at Blackfriars Restaurant in the heart of Newcastle. Walking in tunnels underneath the city was the next stop after lunch. Hard to fathom that 10,000 people a night slept in these tunnels during the war.

North East England may be a lesser known part of England for some but definitely has a lot to offer. Liz, our head of product is travelling around the region for a few days and today is in County Durham. Auckland Palace, once a majestic residence of the Bishops of Durham is stunning, has lots of interesting artefacts,, a Faith Museum and a Spanish Art gallery featuring paintings by Francisco de Zurbarán,

Sheenco Travel enjoyed a great FAM Trip recently. Focusing mainly on the North West of Ireland, we visited Kildare, Cavan, Belfast, Derry, Fermanagh, Donegal, Galway and ended in Meath. During this familiarisation trip the team had a lot of fun and also learned a lot throughout. A huge thanks 🙏 to all our partners for their assistance in organising this trip with us and we look forward to having many of our guests to Ireland visit soon!
