Get into the holiday spirit when the Performing Arts Series presents the Isthmus Brass! Wednesday, December 13 at 7:00pm in the Brodbeck Concert Hall! Comprised of the finest professional brass players in the Midwestern United States, the ISTHMUS BRASS is Wisconsin’s premiere large brass ensemble. Established in 2009, the Isthmus Brass was formed in Madison when some of the best and busiest brass players in Southern Wisconsin looked for a way to collaborate and perform together.

“This is one of the more unusual and intriguing musicals I have ever encountered. I fell in love with it when I saw it on Broadway in 2017, and I have been hoping to bring it to the Platteville stage ever since. I think people will be pleasantly surprised to find that an electro-pop opera based on part 8 of Tolstoy’s ‘War and Peace’ is such an intoxicating ride.” Read more about the show in the link!

Thank you to all who joined us at the CFA this summer. There are many exciting theatre and music events planned for the coming year, too. We’ll see you again soon!

"You can't have a city without music." Over the past two weekends, more than 700 people came to see us tell this beautiful story! ONCE is a very special show, and we were so glad to share it with the Platteville community (and beyond). Congratulations to the amazing performers, musicians, and the entire PSAF staff on a job very well done!

We will be back next summer with another story to tell! Watch this space in the coming months for information about the 2023 PSAF...we'll see you next year! As always, thank you for spending your summer with us!

Rehearsals have begun for the Platteville Summer Arts Festival production of the smash-hit Irish musical, ONCE! Winner of 8 Tony Awards and based on the 2007 film of the same name by John Carney, ONCE features a book by Enda Walsh and music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová. Show dates are July 29, 30, August 5, and 6 at 7:30pm and July 31 and August 7 at 2:00pm in the Brodbeck Concert Hall.

On the streets of Dublin, an Irish musician and a Czech immigrant are drawn together by their shared love of music. TONIGHT! It may be cold outside, but things will be warming up in the Center for the Arts Brodbeck Concert Hall when PANCHROMATIC STEEL takes the stage for the 2022 Performing Arts Series! Since its debut in 2017, Panchromatic Steel has blazed an entirely new trail in the Madison music scene, infusing rich musical traditions of the Southern Caribbean with the improvisational firepower of some of the city's finest jazz musicians. This 12-piece band features Nicholas Bartell and Steven Beda on woodwinds and trombone, respectively, Tommy Mattioli on marimba, vocals by Elena Ross, a rhythm section of Josh Pultorak on drumset, Kevin Knapp on electric bass, and of course a small steelpan orchestra directed by Keith Lienert and Chad Bartell.

LIVE PERFORMANCES ARE BACK AT THE CFA! There are two wonderful events happening in the Center for the Arts this weekend! The Pioneer Players present the Christopher Marlowe classic, DOCTOR FAUSTUS, December 2-4 at 7:30pm and December 5 at 2:00pm in the Theatre. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $7 for students/under 18!

The Music Program presents its annual HOLIDAY GALA to benefit music scholarships on December 3-4 at 7:30pm in the Concert Hall. Tickets are $10 general admission and $5 for 17 and under!

This ensemble seeks to work in subtleties and intricacies and expand each member’s typical musical roles. Compositional influences come from Oliver Messiaen, Mark Turner, Tom Harrell and Alex Sipiagin.
