**Update**
They said it was an automatic error on their end and my page had been moved to good standing. πŸ™ƒ But still, IF you still want to be added to our newsletter, that would be ideal. You can do so by visiting our website - redbarnfarmwi.net

I'm not entirely sure if this is a scam, or legit. But I received a notification that my "page has been suspended" and the reason is - impersonation.
??? πŸ€” I can promise you Facebook, it's me, myself, and I running this business. I'm not impersonating anyone

And now I'm under review, which could take up to 4 days. So, that being said, if you like my content and following along, please go to my website and subscribe to my newsletter. I don't send out a ton of emails (but lordy, that might change now), but it's basically information on what I have going on, on the farm.

I always see people talk about social media is just borrowed space. If you want to be able to stay in touch with your customers, friends, biggest supporters - get their emails. That way you can communicate directly to them if social media goes away (or randomly suspends your account!).

This all started because I wanted to update my profile name and add WI to the end. I have everything set up as Red Barn Farm WI (website, email, social media handles), but realized my FB and Insta names were just Red Barn Farm, so I simply wanted to make them all cohesive.
🫠 Cool Jess.

So hopefully I don't disappear and have to start over. That would be real fun. Happy Tuesday!

We're not your typical flower shop. We're a seasonal flower shop. What does that mean exactly? It means that we only have flowers from May until Oct; between frosts. We grow all of our own flowers. Every single plant starts out as a seed, bulb, tuber, corm, or plug. When you choose our flowers, you're supporting a small, local business.

Why is that important? Because the floriculture industry was worth 6.7 BILLION dollars in 2023. And it's only projected to go up each year, reaching almost double by 2030. Can you imagine the beneficial impact not only on local communities but also the US economy if all that money stayed in each respective community across the country? Now, trust me, I understand the limits of different zones, but if wholesale brokers would purchase from southern states in the winter vs. South America (80% of flower imports) or Africa, would be huge.

Also, think of the environmental impacts as well when buying locally. Flowers aren't shipped on cargo ships or airplanes, and then by trucks across the US, contributing to pollution. Invasive pests aren't accidently transported in. And heavily sprayed flowers to keep them "fresh" for weeks, aren't being sold in grocery stores for unprofitable margins.

Another issue that isn't talked about enough is the health effects imported flowers have on the consumer and florist. Flowers that are heavily sprayed with pesticides and fungicides are easily absorbed through the skin and readily breathed in, potentially causing skin conditions, respiratory issues, and reproductive issues. It's scary but an unfortunate reality. What's often the first thing someone does when they receive a bouquet of flowers? Stick their nose in it and take a big whiff. Now imagine, what are you actually smelling? What residue is coming off that bouquet and entering your body? What residue is being transferred to your hands every time you fuss with the bouquet?

We're not your typical flower shop. This is true. I'm passionate about providing locally grown, chemical free flowers. Flowers that you can stick your nose in and take a big whiff without fear.

We hope you choose us for your flower needs this growing season.

I look at flowers like this one, and all I can think of is "God is in the Details". There's no other explanation for the perfect design of flowers. The millions of different types, all the color variations, styles, patterns. Their intricate details. The lessons learned from these tiny seeds, that grow tall and strong and into such beauty. God is in the details, for sure. Have a beautiful Sunday celebrating the Lord's Day. It's a fantastic fall day.

Why the name β€˜Rustica Retreat’

Have you ever rode on the fender of a tractor with your dad and had these beautiful birds dive bombing all around you catching the bugs you are stirring up as you rake and bale hay? Or have you noticed the same thing on a hot summer day while you are mowing the lawn or feeding animals in the barn? Well I have. As a kid, watching the barn swallows flying ever so gracefully was my favorite thing to. Their colors were breathtaking. An iridescent navy blue, with a creamy orange belly. They were sleek, they were fast, and they ate mosquitoes. A win all around in my book. When designing our tiny house, their colors provided inspiration. When deciding on a name for our tiny house, their species name also provided inspiration, H. Rustica. Seriously. Google it, Hirundo Rustica. β€˜Rustica Retreat’ was born. It’s a perfect reminder of these magnificent little birds, that hold a special place in my heart for the memories they are a part of, and it’s a perfect description of our humble abode. Rustica Retreat, navy blue with a splash of rustic orange on the outside, a sleek retreat on the inside.
