Tom is close friends with Elton John drummer, Nigel Olsson, and has recorded songs and episodes of his Greatest Music of All Time Podcast with Elton John guitarist, Davey Johnstone, and has even met Sir Elton himself, the man who Tom credits with helping him recover from alcoholism. The level of attention to detail in recreating the music and fabulous costumes of Elton John & His Band is simply unparalleled.

Tom learned to play the piano during the Covid-19 lockdowns as a way of staying sober, inspired by Elton John himself. Tom played his first "Tom's Elton Tribute" concert in January of 2022 at the Carrollton Station in New Orleans, Louisiana. He developed his act in Nashville, Tennessee, with residencies at the Players Inn, a dive bar in Bellevue. By May 2023 he was playing to 1,500 people at McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre in Texas. He then toured the world performing as his alter ego, Sir Eltom John. Tom's touring as a live singer and piano player has encompassed performances in every single state of America and hundreds of concerts at iconic venues all over the world. This includes shows at Carnegie Hall, Casino Estoril, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Liverpool Philarmonic Hall, Bristol Beacon, New Theatre Oxford, Emerson Colonial Theatre, The Granada Theatre Santa Barbara, The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center, Perot Theatre, Sioux City Orpheum, Louisville Memorial Auditorium, Performing Arts Center San Luis Obispo, Scottsdale Performing Arts Center, Sunrise Theatre, Vibra São Paulo and Vivo Rio, and, as of February, the Lofte Community Theatre!

Throughout the rest of the year, we'll be featuring our upcoming productions for 2025 so you know what is coming soon to the Lofte stage! Today we are featuring our fourth production - The Last Mass at St. Casimir's. As a reminder, season tickets are on sale now! Visit lofte.org/tickets to get yours, or go to lofte.org/2025-season to see all of the shows in next year's season!

The Last Mass at St. Casimir's by Tom Dudzick
Auditions are May 12 & 13 at 7:00 pm. Performances are September 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14.
Cast: 2 women aged 30-70, 3 men aged 30-35 (ages are exact in the script but actors ages may be outside of these ranges)
The final installment of the "Over The Tavern," trilogy. The Lofte previously produced the other two installments, "Over the Tavern," and "King o' the Moon."
It's 1977, and the children of the Pazinski clan have all grown up and have returned to their childhood home to say goodbye. That home is an apartment above Chet's Bar & Grill, their father's bar, in Buffalo, NY. They all begin to realize that it isn't just their home disappearing, the whole neighborhood is on its way out as they see that the local church, St. Casimir's will be having its final mass, hence the title of the play. Mother, Ellen Pazinski is aging but is still trying to take care of her son, Georgie, who is mentally disabled. Ellen's children Annie, Eddie, and Rudy try to figure out the best way to take care of their reluctant family, and each other. And it looks like they'll have plenty of time to talk about it as the snowstorm of the century means they are all going to be stuck inside together for three days! This is a heartwarming script with some moments for comedy, but also gentle moments.

Remember to pick up your season tickets for 2025! Purchase them online at lofte.org/tickets or call the box office at 402-234-2553. You can also download the season flyer at lofte.org/2025-season, print it off, and mail it to us. The holidays are over, but for hundreds of Nebraskans, the arrival of New Year’s Day means there’s still one celebration left to enjoy: a First Day Hike.

First Day Hikes are a nationwide initiative to get people outdoors on Jan. 1 to enjoy state parks through free, guided hikes. Started in 2016 in Nebraska, the tradition has continued to grow. Last year, a record number of 22 Nebraska state parks participated, with more than 1,000 hikers in total.
