Every Saturday there is a 1-1/2 hour Roanoke River Delta Tour on the Inner Banks Harbor Towns' cool new 30-passenger jet boat, "Penelope". Tours are at 11:00am and 3:30pm. Tickets are only $25 round trip. Click on the link below or scan the QR Code.

NEW for 2024!

With the help of the Martin County Arts Council, the National Black Bear Festival is hosting an Art & Photography Show and Competition on Friday, May 31st at the Roanoke River Maritime Museum in Plymouth. Email Robin Ray at [email protected] to get the details to enter. Artwork or photos created in the last two years are eligible. Come enjoy the reception Friday evening or come view the exhibit on Saturday, June 1st across from the Kid's Zone and beat the heat in the air conditioned museum.

FERNS!!! I visited Askew’s Nursery yesterday. Wayne Askew took me into his fern greenhouse. It felt like I was back in Costa Rica! It was a veritable jungle. I have never seen such large, lush, beautiful ferns in my life! He has almost 1,000 that he has raised that are ready for sale to enhance your home, office, or event. First Friday Music Series is tonight in Downtown Plymouth at Bear Towne Market with a free concert, free pontoon boat rides on the Roanoke River and various vendors from 5:30-8:30pm. And tomorrow at the same Bear Towne Market at 118 Washington St. is Super Saturday from 10am - 2pm with all kinds of vendors. Also on Saturday is Faith in Blue with free fish plates from 11am - 6pm next to the Port O'Plymouth Museum at 302 East Water St. Don't miss the fun in Downtown Plymouth!

Would you guess that black bears prefer to eat high-protein crops like peanuts, corn, wheat and soybeans?

Black bears are actually the least carnivorous of all the carnivores and only rarely partake in insects, larvae and even blackberries!
