What a fun day at the Sugar Plum Stroll! A huge thanks to all of the City administration, City employees, Merchants, and Friends of Main Street who helped put it on, and to everyone who came out to have fun and this holiday season! And if you didn’t make it down today, you still have plenty of time before Christmas!

The City of Point Pleasant WV is having an ice-skating rink, we’ll have Christmas characters wandering Main Street, and of course, our businesses will have all kinds of great Christmas deals! There’ll be hot chocolate, ornament decorating, and more, all free to the community!

The Sugar Plum Stroll also features a ticketed VIP experience with a catered reception at the Point Pleasant River Museum & Lakin Ray Cook Learning Center, door prizes, and special gifts, including a swag bag and bonus coupons to downtown businesses! These $25 VIP tickets can be purchased at Counter Point Cooperative, Siders Jewelers, The Flawed Frog, LLC, and other downtown businesses!

Good afternoon!

It is with great pleasure that we announce the 2025 24 Hours of Appalachia schedule.

Qualifier rounds: To qualify for the finale in Kentucky, you must participate and finish top 10 in one of the first 3 events.

The finale in Kentucky will be by invite only due to the difficult nature of the terrain and high demands Kentucky brings. We will also have a CASH PURSE for the top finishers of each class.

At the Kentucky finale we will offer a 12 hour challenge as well for those who want to participate and raise funds for a great cause.

We will be posting more info for individual event sign ups as well as launching a website for the series soon. We look forward to seeing you this year.

Note: The March 2025 Winter Run will not include a motorcycle class.

Also, if you're interested, we will be holding a Gambler 500 event December 27-29, 2024 near Charleston, West Virginia at a newly constructed off-road and adventure park that has yet to be released to the public. Checkout the events section on our page/website for more information and updates. You don't want to miss this one. IT WILL GET SPICY AS THE WEEKEND GOES ON :)

Happy Veteran’s Day to all who served! “Honor to the soldier and sailor everywhere, who bravely bears his country’s cause.” -Abraham Lincoln.

World War I ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, commemorated every year by Veteran’s Day, which recognizes all who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. This photo was taken in 1917 and shows Mason County’s World War I draftees on the Point Pleasant Post Office steps, beneath a flag the City received for meeting its quota during the 3rd Liberty Loan Drive.
