Fun Fact! If you have ever driven from Kōloa to Poipu then you have caught a glimpse of The Old Sugar Mill. This iconic and historical structure was part of the booming sugar cane industry in the 1800’s. The site was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1965, and it officially closed its doors in 1996. You can learn more about the sugar cane industry on the Kōloa Heritage Trail which features the sugar monument in Old Kōloa Town.
