Happening Saturday! The annual Tree Tunnel Clean-Up July 13, from 7am-5pm.

In preparation for Koloa Plantation Days our community will be working together for the Tree Tunnel Clean Up. Please be advised that Maluhia Road (Tree Tunnel), from Kaumuall’i Highway to Ala Kino iki junction, will be closed for this cleanup on July 13, from 7am - 5pm. Traffic will be diverted to Koloa Road. As a reminder, ‘Oma’o Road is a narrow residential road that is not intended to be used as a detour route and not designed for high volumes of traffic or truck traffic. The speed limit is 25 mph for the entire length of Oma o Road. Motorists should allow for extra travel time and follow the speed limits and all traffic signs. Electronic message boards will be installed to inform motorists.

The road closure will allow community groups to conduct an annual clean-up of Maluhia Road for the Koloa Plantation Days celebration. In addition, the County of Kaua’i Roads Division will be present and conduct grass-cutting and shoulder maintenance work. For more information about the road closure, call the Roads Division Main Office at 808-241-4847

Beautiful mahaulepu 🌞

After a 2-mile trek under a grueling sun, I crawl through a small crevasse into a dim cave. As I stare up at the cavern’s irregular surfaces, I notice the Māhā‘ulepū Heritage Trail is a short coastal trail that explores Kaua‘i’s fascinating natural history and unique archaeological sites.
