The Moorish Idol fish is on the street sign for Poipu Makai. Recently I have been seeing a group of four of these fish, juveniles that hang out together. I tried to get a shot of them in formation but this was the best I could do. They seem to be buddies.

A lot of yelling from outside usually means a whale sighting. This juvenile was breaching repeatedly very close to shore. Yesterday I saw a similar-sized whale tail-slapping within 30' of the boogie boarders at Brennecke's.

A lot of yelling from outside usually means a whale sighting. This juvenile was breaching repeatedly very close to shore. Yesterday I saw a similar-sized whale tail-slapping within 30' of the boogie boarders at Brennecke's.

These three whales were hanging out for quite a while. Later we saw a huge breach right off Poipu Beach Park, just past the surf break.
