June is the busiest travel month of the year. Airport delays are now the normal.
Download your airlines app, it is loaded with helpful info from gate changes, flight changes to tracking bags.
Say a prayer.
Pack your patience .
Keep any prescription meds in your carry on or personal item.
Forgo packing expensive jewelry but if you must, keep it in your carry on.
Take proper ID for the trip and keep with you.
Gov photo ID for domestic travel .
Passport for international and check for Visa requirements.
Take more than one source of $$$. Couple of credit cards. Cash for tips. Notify banks that you’re traveling. Add cell phone as a fraud contact to your card.
If international , add international to your cell phone plan.
Travel insurance is always a good idea. Most know that Travel insurance can cover cancellations for illness , death , weather cancellation’s but did you ever think about the unexspected stuff that can happen while your on vacation? $100,000.00 medical coverage, medical transportation for loved ones to come to you or returning your remains home? I do offer stand alone travel insurance with a tried and true company.

Kay county friends, the filing period for the new Kay County Free Fair Association ends this Friday. The board will consist of 9 individuals , 3 to be elected from each commissioner’s district . We need 9 individuals with a passion for the Kay County Free Fair and spring livestock show to step up and make a difference in our community.
You have until 4:30 P.M. this Friday, May 17, 2024 to file in the office of Tammy Reese, Kay County Court Clerk.
Office hours are 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. Filing ENDS this Friday.
ONLY registered voters of Kay County are eligible .
You must live in the commissioner’s district that you will represent.
The Election will be held June 1, 2024

Our Fleet Operations Center continues to actively monitor Hurricane Idalia. The safety of our guests and crew remain our priority and our ships will always maintain a safe distance from the storm.

Given the storm’s track, the following ships are currently under watch:



CHARLESTON – The port is currently closed to all marine traffic.

Carnival Sunshine 08/28/23 – The ship is sailing on its scheduled itinerary. We are planning to return to Charleston once the post storm assessment is completed and we are cleared for entry.

Carnival Sunshine 09/02/23 – We hope to operate your cruise as planned. To stay up to date, please sign up for text alerts by texting CCL3 to CRUISE (278473).



JACKSONVILLE – The port is currently closed to all marine traffic.

Carnival Elation 08/26/23 – The Port of Jacksonville is closed to marine traffic, and officials will conduct an assessment tomorrow morning. We will not have a projected arrival time until after that assessment is completed. We hope to be able to dock some time Thursday, although there is a possibility it may be Friday morning. The ship remains in a safe position away from any impact of the storm.
