Coming this weekend!!

In just 2 days the 2024 Summer Sendoff event will finally be here!! We have so much planned for Saturday, September 21st: starting with the final Pontiac Cruise Night at the East end of Humiston - Riverside Park from 5PM - 8PM and on the opposite end of the park, at the bandshell, we will have the Beatles cover band Kaleidoscope Eyes. They will be performing from 6PM - 9PM. Stay tuned for more announcements as we will have vendors there as well!

As crazy as it sounds, the holidays will be here before you know it!! 🎄 Downtown Pontiac, IL has already been planning and they are so excited to make this year even bigger & better than before!

The 2024 Art Walk, hosted by The Art Center by Greater Livingston County Arts Council, is happening now until Friday, September 20th!

Browse the participating Pontiac businesses and bid on the artwork made by local artists displayed within them. All of the proceeds will go towards the GLCAC scholarship fund.

This is a great program that benefits our community, so make sure to grab a brochure to learn more! These are available at the Art Center and participating businesses.

The Precision Planting Sunflower Field is finally up - and just in time for Labor Day Weekend! A bonus for this year? The field is also a maze!

📣 The Downtown Pontiac, IL Sip & Shop has been cancelled for Tuesday, August 27th, due to the high temperatures predicted for tomorrow. Stay cool out there!

Due to the excessive heat warnings for Tuesday, we are cancelling our final sip n shop for tomorrow. It will not be rescheduled at this time. I appreciate y’all participating in this pilot program. Decisions on continuing it for the 2025 season will be made after we gather more feedback and discussions. Please share this with anyone who might need this!

PONTIAC MUSEUM COMPLEX CLOSED today 8/21/2024
For the safety of our staff and our visitors, the museum complex which houses the Route 66 Association of Illinois Hall of Fame and Museum, the Livingston County War Museum, Home Again on Route 66 and more, is closed due to roof construction. We will be open tomorrow, 8/22/2024 at 9am.

Ready to this weekend? It's the 3rd weekend of the month, so we've got a few events for you to try out!

Saturday, August 17th:
- Grab some produce at the Pontiac Farmers Market in Downtown Pontiac, IL Courthouse Square from 8AM to Noon.
- Meet an author at the Pontiac Public Library (IL)! They will be having a book signing with author Keisha Alexander at 10AM.
- All three of Pontiac's Historic Homes (Jones, Yost & Strevell) will be open for tours starting at 1PM - 3PM.
- Check out some vintage cars at the next Pontiac Cruise Night in Downtown Pontiac, starting at 5PM.

Sunday August 18th:

Happy Friday, Pontiac! 🌟 Exciting events are lined up for this weekend:

On Thursday, August 8th through Sunday, August 11th the Vermillion Players is having their final performance of the season, featuring Little Shop of Horrors! As always, the shows will take place at the Chautauqua Park Pavillion, with doors opening at 6:30PM and the show starting at 7:30PM.

On Saturday, August 10th:
- The Pontiac Farmers Market will take place in the Downtown Pontiac Courthouse Square from 8AM to Noon.

Looking for something to do in Pontiac this weekend? We've got you covered!

- On Friday, July 26th donate blood at OSF Saint James - John W. Albrecht Medical Center and Impact Life's Community Blood Drive from 11AM to 4PM.

- Saturday, July 27th visit the Pontiac Farmers Market in Downtown Pontiac at the Courthouse Square from 8AM to Noon.

- Also on Saturday night will be the AIR - City of Pontiac dance! Featuring the theme "take me out to the ballgame" at the Pontiac Rec Center Gymnasium from 6:30PM to 8:30PM.

- Finally, an added-on event for Tuesday, July 30th - Sip & Shop event! This is a new event series held in Centennial Plaza (behind the Historic Museum Complex.) Visitors can enjoy a drink from either Mill Street Tap or Acres Inn and browse the various vendors that will be setup in Centennial Plaza from 5PM to 8PM. Tuesday's event will also feature Music by Aaron Newsome!
