I thought I’d go to Texas to the TXOLAN shows. I decided to send some fleeces too. Captain Booker and Captain Cognac have once again given us reason to be proud. These boys are sired by our amazing Captain Midnight. So not only did they win Color Championship in their respective categories. Cognac also won the best brightness award.

Someone just asked me how we did at Buckeye. I realized I never posted these. Captain Booker (black) was 2nd to the Champion in both halter shows and Reserve Champion in Walking Fleece. Captain Cognac placed first in both halter shows in very competitive brown classes. Cinco C's Checkmate placed first in both shows in fawn. This beautiful black female Chicago Blues belongs to Seven Acres Alpaca Farm. We had the pleasure of showing her when she placed first and Reserve Champion. She is one of the first offspring of our grey 5C's Chicago. I also realized that I didn't have a photo taken of 5C's Ciren Song who placed 2nd as a silver grey yearling (another Chicago offspring). So to answer the question, our crew made us proud.

I've gotten a bit behind in posting. This little female is our first cria from our co-owned herdsire Magavin. When Deb and I purchased him I had a hope and a prayer that he could produce black. Yesterday while I was off the farm doing a drive-by breeding this little female arrived. Mystique apparently delivered the cria like a veteran even though she's a maiden. This little female is the offspring of a very long list of champions. Welcome to the world little girl. Our beautiful KCF and 5C's Mystique is the dam and the sire is our 5C's Chicago. She needs a special "c"-name.

Yesterday was a busy day here. 6:45am we found this little beige male cushed but very cold. It took some time to get him warmed but he's doing great now. 4pm this little black female arrives and practically walked out of her maiden dam. Two healthy crias in one day is such a welcome diversion to the crazy world we live in. Life is good. 💞
