Welcome home to The Bike Path Bungalow. It is a newly remodeled 1 bedroom, 1 bunkroom and 1 bathroom year round vacation rental in the Agnew area of the Olympic Peninsula, half way between sunny Sequim and Port Angeles in Washington state. It sleeps 5 and is equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable vacation stay. The Bike Path Bungalow is new to the vacation rental market. We have
recently remodeled and restructured this house, so everything is new, all the way down to the windows! It shares a 2 acre lot with our home, but you will have plenty of privacy and your own yard. The exterior features an accessible ramp and a large deck that has plenty of space for outdoor eating (grill available) or for soaking up the famous rain-shadow sunshine. There is yard space for privacy and a fire pit for a special place to gather in the evening to talk about your day and have a few s'mores before bedtime. We even provide the first bag of marshmallows and some starter firewood! The interior has a bright, open layout that combines the kitchen, dining and living room areas in one large space. There are skylights that bring in even more light. The new gas fireplace in the living area gives you a place to relax after a hard day of vacationing and recharge yourself for the next day. The well-equipped kitchen has a regular sized refrigerator, an electric range, a microwave hood combination, and a dishwasher as well as plenty of counter space. We have tried to equip it with everything you might need for cooking, but we also can lend you just about anything you don't find there. The main bedroom is large and airy and has a king sized bed that is actually two extra long twin beds that can be separated if needed (extra setup and bedding fee). There is a small room with an extra long twin bed, which will eventually be a bunk room, but right now sleeps only one. In addition there is also a full sized futon in the main living area that sleeps 2 kids easily or 2 adults cozily. ;) The bicycle themed bathroom has a shower and the vanity has double sinks. There is a Spacemaker unitized washer and dryer in the bungalow for your use (so you can pack lighter!) and we provide the detergent and dryer sheets. We have a small Pack and Play and a booster seat with a detachable tray available for you to use if you are traveling with small children. We think our location on the Olympic Peninsula is a perfect starting spot for your vacation. The Bike Path Bungalow is about half way between Sequim and Port Angeles so day-trips are easily made to Port Townsend or Poulsbo to the east or to the west you can easily visit all the diverse areas of the Olympic National Park (Hurricane Ridge, Lake Crescent, Sol Duc Falls and hot springs, the Hoh Rainforest, and beautiful Rialto and Ruby Beaches on the Pacific Ocean). Our summer days are long here and Victoria, BC with its old world architecture and world famous Butchart Gardens is just a ferry ride (passport necessary) away. You might even spot a whale or two on the ride over! The feeder bike path on the edge of the property leads directly to the Olympic Discovery Trail, which is a short 1/3 mile away. Bike rentals are available in both Sequim and Port Angeles. This area is famous for its beautiful lavender farms and two of the best are nearby! Victor's Lavender Farm is less than 1/2 mile away and Washington Lavender is less than 2 miles. The Agnew Grocery and Feed Store, less than a mile away, feels like a wonderful step into the past and is a great stop for basic groceries. They also have a excellent wine and beer selection, as well as wine tasting on Thursdays! If you haven't been to the Olympic Peninsula before you are in for a visual treat. Bring your camera and be prepared to use it. From the lavender fields to the mountains, the rainforest to the ocean, the beautiful pastoral scenes to amazing views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and gorgeous Lake Crescent, you will be amazed at the variety of things you can see in a day's drive! Come, enjoy, soak it all in. The only difficult thing about the Olympic Peninsula is having to leave it.
