For those who don't know, Angkor Wat holds the Guinness World Records for being the largest religious structure in the world! In a recent update, Angkor Wat has become the eighth wonder of the world beating out Pompii Italy for the position.

Angkor Wat is a huge temple complex and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This place is the largest religious monument in the world that attracts lakhs of visitors from across the globe annually. It was originally built as a Hindu temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, and then progressed onto become a major temple of Buddhism. Angkor is also famous f0r its statue of eight-armed Vishnu, also revered by the locals as their protecting deity.

Built in the 12th century by King Suryavarman II, Angkor Wat was originally dedicated to the Hindu deity Vishnu. However, overtime, it transformed into a Buddhist temple. The transition from Hinduism to Buddhism is evident in the intricate carvings that adorn the temple walls, depicting scenes from Hindu and Buddhist mythology.

On July 24, 1911, American explorer Hiram Bingham discovered the remains of the Incan city Machu Picchu. Located high in the mountains, the city remained intact after the Incans abandoned it in the 17th Century due to lack of awareness of its existence. Besides the locals, no one knew of Machu Picchu's existence until 1911. In 1983 Machu Picchu was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it is consistently considered one of the Wonders of the World.

The new program requires an online application and a minor fee, and is required for all travelers regardless of their age.

People often ask me why they should book with a travel agent - there are multiple reasons but this is one that I LOVE! We are constantly working with the cruise lines and have relationships with them so when there is an opportunity to upgrade the clients the cruise lines go to agent bookings first - This morning one of my clients was upgraded from the lowest cabin on the ship to the Owners Suite because of the relationship that I have with this cruise line. To be able to call my client and tell her this was such a treat and makes my job so much fun
