Free public Wi-Fi is now available on the Port Aransas beach! 🛜

The Port Aransas Tourism Bureau & Chamber of Commerce, Brightspeed, LLC, and the City of Port Aransas are excited to announce the launch of a pilot program providing free public Wi-Fi along the beach from Avenue G to the Horace Caldwell Pier. Limited service is also available in portions of town, beginning on the corner of Alister Street and Cotter Street.

The free Wi-Fi service is now available, and users can connect by selecting PortAransas-Free-Public-Wifi on their devices and using the SmartTown and Passport technology to auto connect when in an available area.

The Port Aransas Tourism Bureau & Chamber of Commerce encourages the community to provide feedback on the service to help guide future improvements by sending emails on user experience to [email protected].

Keep Port Aransas Beautiful (KPAB), with support from Mark Grosse’s The Very Best Day Charitable Fund, is offering three micro grants of up to $5,000 each to support local beautification projects.

This is a fantastic chance to enhance your business and contribute to the charm of Port Aransas. Grants are available for projects in three key areas:

✅ Invasive Species Removal & Native Landscaping: Improve biodiversity with native plants and rainwater collection.
✅ Improving City Code Compliance: Upgrade fencing, signage, dark sky lighting, and dumpster enclosures.
✅ Building Facade Improvements: Refresh your storefront with updated awnings, shutters, and utility boxes.

Applications are due March 31, 2025—just a few weeks away! Don’t miss your chance to bring your vision to life with the help of these funds.

If you want to go find fish in Port Aransas, Captain Randy with Red Tag Guide Service is your best bet to get in on all the fun! Capt. Randy will pick you up for your trip at 900 Tarpon St. in Port A. You can check out all the bays in style from an experienced captain who lives on the island and fishes year-round. This is the best family-friendly charter you will find, and Captain Randy will make sure your family is safe and has a blast fishing.

Capt. Randy has been fishing in and around Port A for the last 25 years and since he lives and fishes here full-time, he is here to get you on some fish and make sure you have fun doing it. You’ll be using techniques like bottom fishing, jigging, and throwing lures, all depending on what fish you’re going after. As part of the 4 1/2 to 8-hour trips, you can target species like Redfish, Black Drum, Flounder, and Speckled Trout, depending on the current season and weather conditions. All the necessary fishing gear is included in the price of your trip.

This is a children-friendly charter, so you’re welcome to bring your kids for a fun fishing adventure!

Fun Fact: In 2021, Captain Randy caught the first Red Tagged Redfish in the CCA/STAR tournament and won a truck and boat, so make sure to join CCA and enter the STAR tournament that runs Memorial Day-Labor Day, and you might just get lucky to win your very own truck and boat!

The trail is made of a boardwalk and crushed granite and is ADA-compliant. It's a popular attraction for seeing shorebirds and other wildlife.
