The Port Aransas Tourism Bureau & Chamber of Commerce is excited to highlight Kathryn and her staff at Miss K Bistro and Catering for helping to support our community! The AEP linemen had their work cut out in the freezing weather last week. Miss K generously offered to feed them lunch and thank them for their service. She also spread the word that she would be providing hot soup to those who may not have been able to afford it. Miss K Bistro and Catering offers yummy and fresh food, a delicious daily special, and some of the best desserts on the island! Thank you, Kathryn and the staff at Miss K's, for your help in supporting our community in more ways than one!

The Port Aransas Tourism Bureau & Chamber of Commerce was thrilled to join the Port Aransas Nature Preserve at the ribbon cutting of the new Salt Island Trail! 🎉

The Salt Island Trail is a 2.2-mile trail in the Port Aransas Nature Preserve at Charlie's Pasture. The trail is made of a boardwalk and crushed granite and is ADA-compliant. It's a popular attraction for seeing shorebirds and other wildlife. Next time you are thinking of taking a walk, head to the Salt Island Trail!

Attending these talks is a great way to learn about the science and conservation taking place at the University of Texas Marine Science Institute. Hear from leading scientists and experts on a wide range of fascinating topics in marine science and beyond.

Congratulations to the winner of the 2024 Lighted Boat Parade, the Reel Loco!🎉

Reel Loco was awarded the best-decorated boat and received a $200 prize and trophy along with a $125 donation in their honor to both the EMS Toy Round-Up and the Helping Hands Food Pantry. A huge thank you to everyone who participated in this event!

Richard Kay started his business in Wimberley, TX in 2014 and moved to Port A full-time in early August 2017, right before the hurricane.

Since the hurricane, RK Projects has completed approximately 70 complete interior and exterior remodels. However, their current primary focus is the design and construction of high-end spec homes exclusively in the Port Aransas area. They will also build a custom home for a lot owner if there is a good match between the owner, the desired end product, and their services.

Richard said their team’s specialty is designing and building highly desirable, fully decorated, and furnished spec homes that are 100% ready for move-in. The typical home they build is 5 bedrooms with an elevator and high-end finish-outs plus a swimming pool, outdoor kitchen, and a fully functional outdoor living space.

RK Projects is a small, family-owned and operated business. Richard and his wife are very involved in supporting the Port Aransas community by being heavily involved in Texas SandFest. Richard also volunteers his time for the City of Port Aransas as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner.
