Out of an abundance of caution, the City of Port Aransas is issuing a mandatory visitor evacuation to go into effect at noon on Sunday, July 7. All visitors should be off the island in advance of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Beryl's landfall.

This does NOT include permanent residents and property owners.

A Kemp's ridley sea turtle laid 81 eggs at Padre Island National Seashore. It's the world's smallest species of sea turtle and is listed as endangered.
