Cecil County lands a big fish! Norway's AquaCon, a land-based salmon farming company, to build on a 160-acre site on the former US Bainbridge Naval Training Center. The proposed $320 million capital investment will result in a 20,000-metric ton Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) facility to be built in two 10,000-metric ton phases. Phase 1 will break ground in early 2025 with the first harvest projected to occur in Q1 2028.
