said to have once been a simple white color. But legend says Curaçao’s governor ordered to have the buildings painted to reduce the bright reflections made from the white paint. 5. Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States, which means it is a self-governing region that is subject to U.S. federal laws, but its residents do not have full voting representation in the U.S. Congress. It has a special status called “Estado Libre Asociado” or “Free Associated State.”
