Sail Port Townsend is now an ASA Affiliate Sailing School. We are offering ASA 101 Basic Keelboat classes this summer. Our first class on June 20/21st was a success! Three more new sailors have their ASA 101 certs! There is still room in our July 25/26th class.

It’s June! And our summer sailing season has just begun.

Here we are raising our sails on a new season! Let’s hope this JuneGloom season goes away in short order and our regularly scheduled program of perfect day sailing conditions sets in.

Until then, don’t be afraid to get some early season sailing on the books. We are having some phenomenally nice conditions between the wet spells and all of our sails come with a generous cancellation policy for a full refund (with 24 hrs notice) and a Good Day Guarantee - we won’t take you out in the rain just to make a buck - we will work with you to reschedule or refund you to make sure you are going to get the blissful experience you’ve imagined! (Unless of course that’s your cup of tea - bring your foulies it’s another La Niña year)

Some pretty big tide swings we’ve been having around here! -3.6 to 9.3 yesterday. Everyday I go sail out to show people the current line where Port Townsend Bay meets the “moving sidewalk” of Admiralty Inlet, a waterway only 3.7 miles wide through which 98% of the tidal flow of Puget Sound passes through. That’s a LOT of water!
