Go ahead, say anything. Take a chance. Ok, I’ll go first….

Today, Nicole and I (Holly) had our standing Thursday retreat call, which we’ve proudly been committed to for almost a year to chat all things retreats (BTW, we’ll be sharing about our next retreat real soon🤭)….

And anyway, we were chatting details, reviewing the new landing page, fine tuning things, and went on several tangents about boss babe life and such…I even learned about skills I didn’t know Nicole had and…well, an hour passed or more…then I realized — THIS, this is why I love to plan retreats for women in business!

It’s these conversations that validate every aspect of the things we do, the decisions we make, the skills we harness, the creativity we employ, that make our work-life go round. And — you can’t talk about it with just anyone. Your partner and friends aren’t typically dealing with the same issues you are as an entrepreneur, solopreneur, founder, exec, or a creative — which makes it hard to relate at times, ya know?

So, we go. We retreat to be seen, to listen, support, collaborate, share ideas, unplug, commiserate, celebrate, unwind, and remind ourselves of the importance, value, and JOY in why we do what we do.

It’s a honor and a privilege to be able to craft our way through this lifetime with the freedom to make our own way. And I’m so glad we get to retreat in between. Lucky us. ♥️—

Retreat prep! Last time I led a retreat I went skidding in hot… Fairly overworked and under relaxed — and then aimed to lead a retreat from a space of calm, cool and collected… not the best combination.

I pulled it off, but in hindsight, it probably wasn’t the best approach.

This year, and coming up in a week for our retreat in Todos Santos, I’m doing a lot of prep ahead of time to get my nervous system to a state of well-being that will better allow me to hold space for others and vibrate at that higher frequency 💡 💫 ✨

Last night that looked like a at with and I’ll say, I was blissed it. Love this space and all they’re doing to facilitate health + healing in Portland.

From her website: “If I were to have a near death experience that would force my life to flash before my eyes, I think it would all be food. My life, for as long as I can remember, has simply revolved around it. I was so fortunate to have a mother who was an amazing cook and didn’t hesitate to pass on her knowlege. Some kids have memories of licking a whisk full of cake batter, but mine are of sitting on the countertop aside my mom pinching ravioli and sneaking spoonfuls of ricotta and mascarpone.

My love of travel later in life revealed itself to just be an excuse for me to eat my way through different cultures. Although my Sicilian background will always be the backbone of my cooking, there are so many more components of what inspires me when I create a dish, and the local ingredients are no small part of that.

Being a chef is what I was born to do, and I am so privileged to share my gift time and time again through all of my clients’ special occasions. My hope is that if you were to ever have your life flash before your eyes, that one of my dishes would be on the reel.”
