One of Oregon's craft beer pioneers has breathed his last. Farewell, Mr. Larrance.

We are heartbroken today as we share this news: Art Larrance, co-founder of the Oregon Brewers Festival and one of the most influential people behind Oregon’s craft beer movement, passed away this morning at the age of 80.

Art dedicated his life to elevating craft beer in Oregon, co-founding Portland Brewing Company and Cascade Brewing, and helping to pass Oregon’s brewpub law. His legacy lives on in every brewpub, and every bottle and can and pint of Oregon beer.

As Art loved to say, “With beer brings friendship.” So gather your friends and raise a pint to Art with us as we honor his legacy and remember with love the friend, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who we dearly miss.

Hopped To Helles starts with the Zoiglhaus brewers casting out our gold-medal winning Zoigl-Hell. During fermentation, we then smite the beer (dry hop) with even more hallertauer mittelfrüh and saaz hops. The spicy and herbal hop aromatics may not be fire and brimstone, but they won't leave you in limbo, either. Noble in nature, devilishly delicious!

From the Vault - Golden Oak

This vibrant and accessible Belgian Pale Strong Ale was aged 8 months in neutral French oak, resulting in a gentle tannic quality and a subtle toasted flavor. The extended time in the barrel mellowed the beer, infusing it with a pleasant almond taste and a classic golden glow. It’s a great ale to share with friends at your next dinner party!

Join us at Threshold Brewing & Blending on Saturday, April 27 for GRODZ DAY! 🇵🇱 To celebrate and learn about Grodziskie, the Champagne of Poland, guests from Polish Browar Grodzisk and Polish Hops will be joined by Portland beer writer and speaker Jeff Alworth for a panel discussion and more.

This will be a fun opportunity to learn about this centuries-old beer style. GRODZISKIE, pronounced “grow-JEES-kee-uh”, is a light oak-smoked wheat ale style originating in the Polish town of Grodzisk.
