Our professional performance artists turn factual dark history dating from the 1600's into theater and even Stand-up comedy at times! Featuring Indian Attacks, Witch Trials, Pirates, terrific story telling, hysterical impersonations and more, this extremely popular ghost tour boasts guests who return year after year. It's not a lot of walking, but it sure is a lot of fun!

Dear Tour Guests,

We grieve for the victims of the 565 mass shootings in America this year. It is indeed heartbreaking. And far too commonplace.

At the same time, in a small way, our intention is always to help prevent fear, grief and isolation from overtaking us. To raise the consciousness and mood, the vibration, if you will, of our tour guests through comedy.

We believe in connecting our tour guests to laugher and enjoyment, not out of insensitivity, but because it is so desperately needed. With so many unknowns, life must be celebrated when possible. We believe life is a blessing. Did you know that the etymology of the word "blessed" has roots in the German language and best translates as "divine silliness" in English? This is what we aspire to, because we hope to leave you feeling better than when you arrived. We look forward to doing the finest job we can for you this weekend.

Best,

Gordon Tweedie

A serious minded gentleman in his late 80's joined us for A Comedy of Haunted History, and listened attentively throughout. I always encourage guests to share their own, first hand encounter stories near the end of the tour, but I was not expecting this...

Turns out the gentleman was a decorated, military veteran who served in the Korean War (1950-53). While stationed there, he befriended a young Asian woman, whose devotion to her ailing parents impressed him. He routinely gave her little gifts from the PX store at the base, and she sometimes prepared home made meals for him. He was transferred home a few months after meeting her, but they kept up a correspondence that lasted over many decades.

5 years ago, he received a letter from her family, letting him know that she had passed away. They enclosed a picture, but she was now barely recognizable to him.

Then, just a couple months ago, he explained, his doctor prescribed a new medication for him. There was a long line at the pharmacy, so he didn't wait to ask about the side effects. While driving home in the countryside the next night, he fell asleep at the wheel of his truck.

He was awakened by someone violently shaking his shoulder, and he just managed to slam on the brakes in time to avoid crashing into a large oak tree at the side of the road. The thing was, he was alone in his truck. He turned around to see his old friend from Korea, looking beautiful, as she had back in 1951. She smiled and then faded away.

When he got home that night, he took his shirt off before getting into bed. The skin of his shoulder was ripped and bloody from where she had dug her fingernails in, trying desperately to wake him up and save his life.

We all got a chill...

Thanks for reading! If you have enjoyed the Wicked Walking Tour, please write a review on GOOGLE!!!! For some unexplained reason, every single review vanished into thin air when I updated my phone number! Very interesting, but I need those reviews now in peak tourist season! I would really appreciate it!

All The Best,

Gordon

It is hard to believe this is our 10th and best season ever! Here is the latest review from Cornwall, UK, home of The Eden Project and the legendary Tintagel Castle of King Arthur and Camelot.

"My wife and i visited Portland on Friday 30th September and wanted a more unique way of getting to know Portland as we only had one night to enjoy this place. Enter Wicked Walking tours and more specifically Gordon, a bon viveur, raconteur and force majeure. The tour lasted over an hour but we all wished it went on longer. Reminding me of Nicholas Cage, Gordon took us through the back streets of Portland regailing us with many stories of ghosts and ghouls, acting each of the parts with such gusto and humour my spine was tingling while my belly was aching through laughter. My wife and i would encourage everyone to go on one of these tours if you want to engage with Portland in a very unique and thoroughly entertaining way. Top marks."

I just wanted to reach out and thank all of our friends and tour guests as we head into October tomorrow. This is our 8th year, hard to believe, and we are going stronger than ever!

My favorite part of the tour continues to be where people share their own experiences with the paranormal. More than a few guests have confessed that they have received telephone calls from the other side. Most recently a man told me he answered his phone, and was shocked to hear the unmistakable cadence of his father's voice. His Dad addressed him by name, and told him "Tell everyone I am doing fine, and look after your mother." Then the call abruptly ended.

Don't miss out! If you haven't been on the tour yet, what are you waiting for?
