Mother’s Day wknd has been amazing! My little loves have spoiled me with gifts and ❤️.

I also got to spend 1:1 time w my own mom enjoying gossip & lunch

Then went on our 🎣 annual mom’s day fishing adventure w my little lovelies.

Malina is still the queen- she caught 6. Niko came in a close second, with 5. And me… well I only got 3 but that is one more than last year!

Social media has changed the way we vacation and think about vacation. Not all of the impact has been positive. 🙁

Overtourism is now a global problem, and it continues to result in a declining quality of life for locals. Too many 🌎 tourists visiting one place in too condensed a time can cause stress, damage, and an often inauthentic experience.

So what can we do? I recommend checking out less popular, but very similar, alternatives (plus you’ll save $ by doing this).☀️

If you ARE going to visit touristy destinations, here are some ways to lessen your negative impact:

✔️Visit during off season
✔️Stay more than a day — the longer, the better.
✔️Support local tour guides, and stay in boutique or eco hotels.
✔️Shop and eat at family-run places so your dollar has the most impact.

Flying can be a little hectic these days with lots of delays and cancellations. Putting an Airtag in your luggage will allow you to keep track of it - this is especially important for long journeys, connecting flights and super busy airports.
