Last December, we had the honor of guiding a group of living donors from Kidney Donor Athletes on the Three Volcano Challenge in Guatemala. These incredible individuals pushed their limits to raise awareness for living kidney donation, but what happened on the slopes of Volcano Atitlan was even more extraordinary.

In the stillness before the final ascent, inspiration struck. The courage of these donors sparked the idea for the Next Step Next One campaign, now a national movement inspiring people to save lives through living kidney donation.

We're proud to have played a part in this journey- and even more proud to share their story.

Embark lost a good friend yesterday. Good bye dear friend. Goodbye is all there is left to say. Wishing you the most amazing journey in the beyond, you deserve it.

Thank you John for ….. everything about yourself. Thank you for showing us what it means to be an amazing story teller. You had such a gift of imparting the significance of life’s intricacies; but ultimately the most profound story you told was that of your own life. And boy did you live it; you lived life big (Aconcagua, baby!) and small (noticing and appreciating the minutiae of life). Thank you for making friends and bringing all of us lucky, unsuspecting souls together. Thank you for adventure and sharing your sense of it with the world around you. Thank you for that smile, that strength, that openness and that vulnerability. Thank you for unwrapping this messy story that is life and somehow finding a way to frame the gift of life in a way that was so true and inspirational.

Sorry from the bottom of our hearts that we didn’t have more, take more, insist on more of that addictive John Waller presence.
