The rain pounded on the third tour of the night. Glad Berkeley was with me to manage the crowd. A vender I don’t have current relationship with sold tickets to the 8:30pm tour - ghost in the machine for sure. Grateful that our guests for all three tours today were kind. It’s hard to take any pictures during pounding rain. This picture was taken where it seems like we’re walking through someone’s home.

Our Saturday 3pm St Johns history tour starts at we are offering Murder Mayhem and Oddities Saturday and Sunday Night at 7:00pm (October 19th and 20th). The Halloweenish evening tours start at the corner of N. Edison and N. Pittsburg by the Cathedral Park sign. RSVP and waivers required. My son Berkeley came and helped with the tours tonight. He took this picture and I had a great time thanks to fun loving guests with great questions and the rain waited until our tours were over for the night.

Hunter’s Moon is October 17, 2024. Our 6pm tour is full but lots of spot on the 8:30pm A Night with Ghosts tour that leaves from the porch of This super moon will eliminate the history and ghosts of NW Portland. It will be the closest of any full moon this year which will make it appear extra large and extra bright. This October moon was once a signal for hunters to prepaid for winter. Also called

These guests were lucky they survived the fake corn maze it’s going to rain a lot next week. Fortunately gave us ponchos for our guests so we are ready for next week. The guests on the first tour tonight and a few from the second were too afraid that pictures capture souls Because they do. The only proof of the 6pm tour was picture of the lobby where Jordan was “just the door man”. I try to explain to folks that that I’ve been the only guide for these tours for ten years and that my kids help me out. Tonight our black cat fighter was in my bed expressing that he too helps set the Halloween tone around our home office.

Our Murder, Mayhem and Oddities of St Johns starts in Cathedral Park. Park was developed in 1980. I saw this image of the area that is now the park in the St Johns Heritage group. They have monthly meetings on the third Tuesday of each month at the Odd Fellows Building on Lombard. I wish I could lead a tour while riding this horse. You can also take our standard history tour of St Johns that meets on the Third Saturday of the month at 3pm. Reservation links to all our tours are in our bio.

Despite learning that our guests will not be able to see the double moon we went out exploring. The team went on the trail of the ghosts of St. Johns; a city that is less than saintly at times. 🚫👻

Fifty years ago the restaurant owners of Pettygrove Junction could not build up a business because people were made uncomfortable by an angry spirit. Thirty years ago the tenants hired an exorcist. Ten years ago a newer tenant asked me to bring the ghost back, I declined.

The weather has been our friend this week. Very appreciative of all the kind Google reviews. I forget that folks don’t know that currently I’m leading 99% of the tours. I tried to mix it up this week with a different view of the St. Johns bridge, the fake corn maze and the house next to the wack fire hydrant in Slabtown.
