After many years in the program, our Girl Scout has embarked on her Gold Project, which is the highest award in Girl Scouts. Here is her project:

"My goal is to create a supply closet accessible to all Pottsboro High School students. As I spend many long hours each day at school with sports, band, student council and more, I see many faces spending just as much time working on their best self. Many of these students get hungry and are in need of simple supplies. If you would like to help us get our Cardinal Closet up and running, please visit my Amazon wish list or contact me to help stock the shelves. I will start an manage this project until I graduate from PHS in 2025, and I hope to create a sustainable program/legacy of community involvement and support."

As we gear up for a fun, packed-house weekend, we wish everyone a happy 4th of July and reflect on what our independence means to us. Thankful to our brave founding fathers, who in signing the declaration was an act of treason against the crown but gave us our freedom, and to the many courageous men and women who have since fought to defend our rights and freedoms, to our communities and neighbors always willing to lend a hand, the American spirit has been a source of pride. We are thankful to work as little or as hard as we wish. We are thankful to receive the fruits of our labors in great abundance. Thankful we have the ability to raise our children in a country where a good work ethic and a strong moral compass can and will take you far. Proud our daughter can be anything she sets her mind to. Thankful that our son can speak his mind, good, bad, right, or wrong, and continue to have a constructive conversation without fear of persecution. Proud to have the freedom to make choices that impact our family in meaningful ways. Proud to pray to a loving God, and proud to stand with our fellow Americans in honoring this great nation of ours!
