We had the absolute sweetest family from Alabama stay at the Lodge during the solar eclipse!
They were Awesome!!
They sent us a few photos of them preparing for the totality of the solar eclipse, and even left a few sweet gifts.

Well, I did NOT expect this but Lake Charles State Park is officially my second favorite state park in Arkansas. Petit Jean will probably always be #1 but I LOVED Lake Charles.

Have you been?

By the way, there were some monster fish jumping out there. I have no idea what kind but they were big and active!

"A half-hour from Jonesboro and about 1.5 hours from Memphis, Lake Charles State Park is a peaceful place located on a 645-acre lake filled with bass, crappie, bream, and catfish. In fact, it’s the place where the largest number of 20-inch bass have been caught in Northeast Arkansas. There are 60 campsites, a third of which are Class AAA, with many spots right on the water. A YURT offers an additional lodging option. The park is also a great getaway in fall and winter months with four hiking trails." -AR State Parks
