After 6 (nonconsecutive) years, we have decided the Bohemian Sto Mil has come to an end. Its been an absolute joy hosting this race every year but the race, as you have grown to love, has marked the conclusion to its existence.

May we always remember the thousand-yard stares at the end, the delicious kolaches, and the sweet sweet relish that will always be burned into our eyes.

Lets ride bikes sometime. ❤️

We just want to say thank you for helping us keep the Sto Mil alive for so many years. Part of our weekend was reflecting on the past and realizing things have really changed form since the start in 2017, but we still love hosting races and spending time with all of you.

We want to thank “the mafia” for hosting czechpoint mile 75 this year, and many other czechpoints in previous years. They have been our true partners in making the Sto Mil successful. Thanks Jimly, Jer, and Eric!

Thanks to Goldenrod Pastries, Angela, Mary, and Stan! They saved the Sto Mil by feeding all of the racers on year 2 and 3 by making food and bringing it out to us. 💛

Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers throughout the years who have just fit in without being given too much instruction. The generous help of others has really helped us thrive.

Over the last six years, we have also lost a few friends that were very special to us in the cycling community. Including Pavel who was from the Czech Republic and attended the race for two years. Mark Savery who was a champion no matter what place he held in our race. We also lost Randy, CVO, and Kupo. 💔

We don’t want to forget to thank our participants and to everyone that buys merch and donates to the race. That is what makes it easy for us to keep doing this every year and we thank you with our whole heart. 💜❤️💜

We want to give a very special shout out to Todd Frye and Joe Billesbach. These two have ridden every single mile of the Sto Mil for every event we have ever held. That means 600+ miles and countless feet in climbing. This year Todd rode the entire thing with a broken leg! Also Joe has done almost every year on a single speed (if not every year).

As reward and token of our love ❤️, we presented them with a bolachek engraved with our logo and their name! They are most certainly two people that are a part of the Sto Mil family, and are so happy they keep coming back for more!

We don’t want to brag, so we haven’t really talked too much about how gorgeous Czechland Lake really is, but we are happy to call it our home base. As a reminder, we have always offered free camping the night before and the night just after the race. We don’t have showers but there is this gorgeous lake to admire and amazing friends that attend both camping nights. We encourage you to plan on joining us for a bonfire and a night of camping. It’s always a great time. See you in a few days! 🥰🔥⛺️

These two have completed every single year of the Bohemian Sto Mil. They have both experienced every painstaking rotation of their gears to see 500 miles of this amazing part of the world. In honor of that, we awarded both of them the ‘Pet Set Mil’ which means 500 miles in Czech, and they will be receiving a special bolachek beer glass with their name and our logo etched on the side. Congrats to Todd Frye and Joe Billesbach! We have mad respect for both of you. 🖤

Also these two roughed it out until the end together this year and they both received the DFL award. Its a badge of honor we love and admire.

2022 course is posted on the website! Here's the skinny:

This year’s course is a “Figure-8” style with a counter-clockwise, 45-mile loop to the south to start followed by a clockwise, 55-mile loop to the north. The midway point is also the start/finish. There will be 3 Czechpoints this year at miles 25, 45, and 72. All Czechpoints will be staffed by volunteers. We will have snacks, water, and hydration mix. No personal outside support is allowed, EXCEPT at the 45-mile Czechpoint, this is also the start/finish. The full course is 100.2 miles with about 20 miles of dirt roads. Some of these roads receive little or no maintenance and can be VERY rough. RIDE WITH CARE.

It takes place at Czechland Lake Recreation Area outside of Prague, Nebraska and provides a beautiful space for on-site camping for those of us that want to sleep next to our bike at the starting line. The sunsets are beautiful and you’re guaranteed to smile next to the fire before bed. Camping is free so make sure you consider joining us either before or after the race. 🏕🖤

We love celebrating Nebraska’s culture and heritage. The beloved Bohemian Alps name was coined by the Czech immigrants that were reminded of home by the gentle rolling hills…aka steep relentless hills.

In celebration, we have been happy to stay on brand by utilizing Abie’s Place amazing czech-style food and catering. They will be providing our morning kolaches and they will be catering roast pork, potato dumplings, sauerkraut, gravy, and rye bread after the race.

We hope to attract a Czech Queen or two in our efforts to honor our Bohemian prowess. 👑👸

We know its extremely hard to do every ride or event you want to attend. The morning after the Sto Mil this year on Oct 2nd at 8am, the Randy Ride memorial fundraiser is taking place. It's in honor of our friend Randy Gibson who was killed by a drunk driver 5 years ago. If you want to participate in both rides, the Sto Mil will pay your $5 entry fee and will match that donation with an additional $5.

Join us for a cycling adventure in the beautiful rolling hills surrounding Prague... Nebraska!

Sto mil = “one hundred miles” in Czech. The hills of this area reminded Czech immigrants of their homeland, thus the name.

This area is affectionately known as the Bohemian Alps. It was settled in the 1870’s by Czech immigrants from Bohemia. Nearly 150 years later and the Czech heritage is still alive and well. The 100 mile course traverses in Saunders and Butler counties’ gorgeous gravel and dirt roads.
