As we get ready for the annular eclipse above Easter Island, a compelling question lingers: Who constructed the Moai Statues? "The Easter Island head mystery is one of humankind’s most baffling enigmas. Standing as silent witnesses to a once thriving civilization, these colossal stone figures are staggering to behold. Yet even today, the true purpose of these Moai statues remains tantalizingly out of reach."
The Easter Island mystery has baffled the world for years. Who built the Moai statues, and why?
On our 2026 Spain Total Solar Eclipse Itinerary we will visit San Sebastian and here's why:
San Sebastian, located in Spain's picturesque Basque Country, beckons visitors with its unique blend of culinary delights, stunning landscapes, and rich cultural heritage. Renowned for its world-class cuisine, San Sebastian boasts the highest concentration of Michelin-starred restaurants per square meter, making it a paradise for food enthusiasts. Beyond its gastronomic offerings, the city's beautiful beaches, including the iconic La Co**ha Beach with its crescent-shaped bay, provide ample opportunities for relaxation and water sports. History enthusiasts can explore the city's charming Old Town (Parte Vieja), where narrow streets are lined with historic buildings, lively pintxo bars, and traditional Basque cider houses (sagardotegiak). Whether you're indulging in gourmet experiences, unwinding on sandy shores, or immersing yourself in local culture, San Sebastian promises an unforgettable and enriching travel experience.
Mexico Copper Canyon Eclipse Part 3 -The indigenous Tarahumara people (also called the Rarámuri) originally inhabited much of what is now the Mexican state of Chihuahua. But after the arrival of Spanish colonizers in the 1500s, most retreated to the higher slopes and hidden canyons of the Sierra Madre range – in a region now known as the Sierra Tarahumara.
With an estimated current population between 50,000 and 70,000, the Tarahumara speak a language derived from ancient Aztec that has survived despite the prevalence of Spanish. Most follow a traditional way of life, often making their homes in caves or below overhanging cliffs. Many are subsistence farmers, growing corn, beans and other staples in small plots. Others graze cattle, sheep and goats on the valley floors and hillsides. Deeply connected to the mountains they’ve called home for centuries, the Tarahumara tend to move from place to place throughout the year, often traveling on foot – and as a result, many are renowned long-distance runners.
This 4th of July, while fireworks light up the night, don't forget to take a moment to gaze at the stars above and appreciate this great country. Whether you're tracking constellations from your backyard, exploring the planets through your telescope, or simply marveling at the wonders of the universe, it's a perfect night to celebrate our cosmic curiosity and our nations birthday! 🇺🇸🎇
In case you are wondering where the next eclipse is..
During our 2026 Iceland Eclipse tour, we will visit an iconic landmark renowned for its striking beauty and unique shape -Kirkjufell Mountain! Rising 463 meters (1,519 feet) above sea level, Kirkjufell, which translates to "Church Mountain," is characterized by its distinctive cone-like peak and steep slopes. Its prominence in Icelandic folklore and its appearance in popular culture, notably in the television series "Game of Thrones," further adds to its allure. Photo by Martin Jernberg
What makes the Atacama Desert so special?
Driest Place on Earth: It's often hailed as one of the driest deserts in the world. Some parts of the Atacama have never recorded rainfall, and the average annual rainfall is less than 1 millimeter.
Best Stargazing Locations: Stargazing in the Atacama Desert is an absolutely breathtaking experience and is considered one of the best places on Earth for observing the night sky.
Astronomical Observatories: The Atacama Desert is home to some of the world's most advanced astronomical observatories.
Unique Flora and Fauna: Despite its harsh conditions, the Atacama supports a variety of specialized plant and animal species adapted to survive in this extreme environment.
Extreme Temperatures: The Atacama Desert experiences dramatic temperature fluctuations between day and night due to its high altitude and lack of cloud cover. While daytime temperatures can soar to over 40°C (104°F) in some areas, nighttime temperatures can drop below freezing.
Happy summer solstice! The summer solstice marks the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, a celestial event imbued with cultural and spiritual significance across civilizations. As the sun reaches its highest point in the sky, bathing the Earth in an abundance of light and warmth, communities gather to celebrate the peak of the sun's power. 🌞

Come and see the Aqueduct of Segovia in 2026, which stands as a remarkable testament to Roman engineering prowess, believed to have been constructed in the 1st or 2nd century AD during the rule of either Emperor Domitian or Emperor Trajan. Its purpose was to transport water over 17 kilometers from the Frío River to the city of Segovia, providing a reliable water supply for its inhabitants. The aqueduct consists of over 25,000 granite blocks, assembled without mortar, and features two tiers of arches, with the upper tier reaching a height of about 28 meters. Despite its ancient origins, the aqueduct remained in use for centuries, undergoing periodic repairs and maintenance, and it continues to be a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracting visitors who marvel at its enduring beauty and historical significance. On the second part of our Texas eclipse journey, we had the opportunity to explore two UNESCO World Heritage sites: Mission San José, founded by Franciscan missionary Fray Antonio Margil de Jesús in 1720, and the Alamo, a fortified mission pivotal in the 1835 Texas Revolution against the Mexican government.
Immersing ourselves in San Antonio's rich culture, we embarked on a serene cruise down the River Walk, where the picturesque promenade adorned with a plethora of restaurants, cafes, and shops stands as one of Texas' most cherished attractions.
