Father’s Day Podcast 🎙️ :: Interviewing Larry Brady - by Scott Brady

On this Father’s Day, we celebrate all of the dads. We are grateful to those with us and honor those who were gone too soon. Dads have an important job, providing protection, love, support, training, and much more. It is a hard job, and it is supposed to be, as honoring those responsibilities helps boy become men, and if they are fortunate- they become fathers, too. For this Father’s Day, I am blessed with honoring my dad, Larry Brady. He did the hard work and has been there for my sister Shannon and me, without exception, for the entirety of our lives. He served in the US Military in the Vietnam War, became a sportsman, and showed me how to be an outdoorsman while also respecting the wild places we interact with. He also became a pilot, horseman, Tournament of Roses rider, and actor in numerous TV shows and movies. He played a cowboy, outlaw, and even Wyatt and Virgil Earp. My dad worked tirelessly to provide for our family, yet somehow managed to be cheering from the sidelines during my football games. I don’t know how he did all of it, but I am grateful that he found the courage to be the father I love and admire. I hope you all enjoy my chance to interview my dad for the Overland Journal Podcast, and I encourage you to do the same with your family.

Mitsubishi May Bring New Delica to the US by 2030 - by Stephan Edwards

The third-generation Mitsubishi Delica is one of the darlings of the JDM import scene. In both diesel and petrol versions, the funky little van from the Land of the Rising Sun offers an arsenal of options that have huge appeal for overlanders around the globe. True 4WD with a low-range transfer case, high ground clearance, and a short wheelbase make it a capable off-roader. A dizzying array of clever and useful equipment for the interior means it easily converts to a mobile habitat with just a few modifications. In fact, Expedition Portal’s own Jack Mac ( Bicycle Touring Apocalypse ) recently bought a Delica as a companion to his VW Westfalia. This popularity has not gone unnoticed by Mitsubishi, and they are teasing the rollout of an all-new Delica platform by 2030.

Mopar Reveals Limited-production Mopar ’24 Jeep Gladiator - by Graeme Bell

Mopar has recently revealed its latest addition to the line of customized, limited-production vehicles with the introduction of the Mopar ’24 Jeep Gladiator. This special edition model, which is part of Mopar’s annual factory-vehicle customization program, is based on the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. Only 250 units of this vehicle will be produced exclusively for the U.S. market.

INEOS Launches Arcane Works to Build Bespoke Grenadiers - by Stephan Edwards

In the world of modern luxury cars, customization is key. For example, Porsche offers a bewildering array of over 200 different configurations on their 911 model, and buyers generally spend over $20,000 on options alone when writing a check for one of those legendary sports cars. Porsche even offers entirely custom color options through its Paint to Sample program—if you’ve got time and deep enough pockets, they’ll paint your P-car any hue you can dream up. It’s all about standing out from the crowd. While a regular Ineos Grenadier is a fairly rare bird itself, Ineos recently announced its own in-house custom studio to build even more uncommon editions of its flagship 4×4: Arcane Works.

Tactical Application Vehicles LLC x Enduro Campers Toyota Land Cruiser - by Graeme Bell

Of all the vehicles on show at Overland Expo West, one stood head and shoulders above the rest, despite being relatively diminutive compared to some of the brutes on display. This vehicle is almost certainly the most capable and practical overland vehicle we found at the event after hours of searching for that one gem, a vehicle that we would happily drive around the world. In a collaborative effort, Tactical Application Vehicles (TAV) has partnered with Enduro Campers to create a lightweight and capable overland vehicle based on a 2021 200 Series Land Cruiser Heritage Edition with a powerful 5.7-liter V8 engine.
